Feeling a bit snoozy right now (think it’s the underactive thyroid making itself known) so this will be a very brief post.

This morning’s Canicross run was practically on my doorstep, but I had to do some advance planning so that I could do the 13k that MyAsics wanted me to, instead of the 8k that was planned for the Canicross peeps. Luckily I have good friends so a lift was arranged to the start so I could branch off near the end and run home. Another friend opted to join me and I then gave her and her dog a lift back up to the start (and her car).

As has become usual, of late, I had to borrow a dog - today it was a girl called Blu who is gorgeous, and a very excellent running buddy 😍

It rained last night so the ground was very muddy and slippy, but I think I was the only person to fall over. Of course it had to happen when I was really close to being back home! Though that was lucky, really, as I actually caught my hand on some barbed wire (brand new and shiny not rusty, thank goodness) and my friend was able to clean it up using the First Aid kit in my car.

Well done for engineering your longer run! I have 13km scheduled next week and am nervous already. It will be my longest run to date. Top tips? Apart from slow down of course.

Thanks!

Either choose somewhere you haven’t got really bored with, and/or take something to listen to.

And plan for a drink and a snack after. Oh and a cool down walk, especially if you have to drive after 😀 let me know how it goes.

I think I might need to plan a route with a public toilet half way too!

I don’t know what was going on with my Canicross group this morning, but 3 of us had to disappear into the bushes before we even started the run!!

So i chose 13km made up of 3 segments I have run countless times but not bolted together. By thinking of it as 3 small runs it actually seemed shorter than the 11k last weekend.

Now time for a nice warm shower.

I’m glad I got it done, it’s got my week off to a good start 😁

It’s cleaned up fine - I even put Dettol in my bath when I finally got home.

A great achievement Maddee, no wonder you feel like a nap after that!

Hope that cut is OK, and you are not too bruised after your fall.

Well done you and Blu😊xx

Thanks 😁

Cut is okay so far, though will probably come out in a bruise tomorrow.

I’m pretty much covered in bruises most of the time, I haven’t noticed any new ones.

Ouch to the barbed wire but well done on the run. These days I usually have a nap after a long run 🙂 It's one of the things I look forward to 😴

Doesn't Blu look beautiful 😚

I was SO glad it was the new stuff, there’s some really rusty stuff farther down the hill! I haven’t napped - but I have spent all afternoon on the sofa 👍

She’s a stunner.

Well done on getting the 13k done. That is one beautiful running companion you have there. Hope your cuts heal soon, such an annoyance but at least you are ok.

Shame she isn’t mine. But it was a pleasure to run her.

Totally okay 👍

My friend was convinced I was going into the wire with my face, so I really did get off lightly.

Ooh face planting a barbed wire fencing is not good, so lucky that didn't happen!

I’m a klutz, I’m surprised I don’t fall over more often.

Blu is lovely 😍

Well done on your 13k!

You have such beatutiful running companions, they just tend not to be too good at first aid. Hope you're okay.

I’m really lucky with the doggoes that my friends can lend me. 😊

Hand is fine, unfortunately I woke up next morning with the flu 😷
