Well I'm posting on here so it must be a school holiday right?
Got up this morning planning a lovely unwinding run around the local reservoir- only to discover there's some sort of sailing event happening so the place is heaving. Opted instead for running a loop alongside the Thames Path that I've walked a million times .. only obviously not in the winter.
Started out muddy and got worse. Also went off a bit fast and the constant slipping was tedious and made me worry for my recently niggling knee.
I gave up 3.5k in.
I haven't given up on a run in ages and I trudged back to the car in a right old grump. Not really the start to half term I was hoping for but I guess there are still 8 more mornings to try.
Think I'll commit to doing my knee strengthening exercises every day and might just take the pressure of the running and just run what makes me happy on a given day this half term.
Happy running this weekend to you all ๐

Definitely a good idea to run what makes you happy. So sorry you haven't had the start to your well deserved holiday that you had hoped. Here's to some happy runs soon! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
It's still a run, even if it didn't go as expected, you still did something and didn't get injured. Enjoy the rest of your runs these holidays, and I think someone at work said it's a short half term coming up, then 2 whole weeks off
