Just look how glorious it is in London today! I have a day off work, so of course the first thing I do is lace up and head out to my favourite woodland run route. π
Bit nippy out, but so beautiful, blue skies and mist and plenty of fresh air. Felt good to be alive.
Noticing some dramatic improvements in my pace, strength and stamina lately. A result, I suspect, of interval training, Pilates and cutting down dramatically on the wine. Pays off, small tweaks!
Happy Friday everyone. π

Beautiful pics of the misty morning Sadie. I have been lying in bed listening to foghorns on the Solent while you have been running. London is great for those open spaces.
wow that really is a beautiful park to run in. It's great when you start to notice the changes isn't it, shows how the extra work you put in has paid off
I am very lucky to have this on my doorstep, Alison! I have been pootling around this park for 18 months now, and still not bored of it. π x
Morning lovely Sadie! Those pics are fab, looks like you had a really enjoyable and much needed run. 5k too!! I'm so proud of what you've achieved Sadie and you should be too. I've said this before and I will probably say this again, you're inspirational!
Aw, thank you dear VRB! Such a kind thing to say. π Iβve certainly worked for it, so am pleased with the results. Everything just looked so stunningly beautiful today, I was in awe of nature. Running has done this to me. π xxx
Just think, if you hadnβt run this morning, you would have missed that! I got to run on a cycle path this morning, not as nice as your park, but I at least got to watch the sun come up.
Hi Sadie, looks like a great run and a lovely park to run in! ππ Iβm not running this week as Iβve pulled the calf muscle in my left leg π’ Iβll be out there again soon in the beautiful weather πππββοΈ
Oh David, so sorry to hear that. π’ I pulled a calf muscle early on in my running career, and it is so annoying. Once the pain subsides, I do recommend a good sports massage. My guy totally helped unknot my calf and I think it also aids speedy recovery. xx
And πππ I totally agree! I have gone from 3 bottles of the finest Sauvignon Blanc a week to 1 bottle a week. Hard at first, but feeling so much better for it. π
I'm doing dry February (well, it's 3 days shorter than January so technically easier!). Going well so far and halfway there! I feel good, no more slightly groggy mornings, but I haven't seen an improvement in my pace yet! Still hoping π
I really donβt miss the groggy mornings, Joy! Sleeping better too and skin looks brighter...part of me *gasp* thinking of going teetotal in the near future!
Thatβs what Iβm doing too. Then I make a bottle of wine last three nights. I still enjoy the wine, but finding I am really feeling it the day after, despite drinking so little! Ugh. I drink lovely flavoured Fevertree tonic water on my nights off. And I know those alcohol free gins you speak of...Mr Sadie-runs, however, bought me a lovely rhubarb and ginger gin for Valentineβs Day π£ not alcohol free! It will last me months! xxx
I think when I restart I will have 4 nights a week alcohol free as well (not the 1st week in March though, as I'm skiing then with wine included with dinner). This week I'll look for some alcohol free wine as I have a couple of girlfriends coming over (I'll offer them real wine as well). I've seen some good ones reviewed - can't remember the names though.
Thanks Lexi. π It is so pretty here, in every season. And now it is getting lighter in the mornings I get to run there more often (rather than the street running I have to do weekday mornings.) x
