i didn't have a plan for my run this morning other than i was going to run this morning π
it was noticeably cooler when i went out at 06:25 and noticeably later for the same light as when i used to go out at 06:00
As always i started off faster than i wanted so slowed down straight away as i did not want to make this a quick run .
my knees ached a little on Saturday evening after my morning 10k so this was going to be a steady plod !
my knees were actually fine today but i felt a little stiffness in the right side of my lower back but this seemed to clear up after a couple of k.
i went back to my original route and also my original playlist which started off with 24 minutes of Pink floyds 'Echoes'
this was the first track i listened to on my week 6 run 3 of c25k π
what i noticed at the end of the run was that it was a very similar time to my first 5k
but 7 minutes longer than my PB.
but which one did i enjoy most ?
the slower one !
so forget the numbers, and just enjoy the run π πββοΈ

Well done, Ian, for keeping this run slow! ππππ
Makes me smile that itβs only a minute or two slower than my run yesterday, when I was going all out for a PB! π
I love that we are really mixing up our runs now. It keeps things fresh and Iβm sure helps to avoid injury.
My favourite run of the week is still the Saturday slow run! π

thanks jools !
yes, there was no way i was going to go for pace !
in fact i really wanted it to be slower , it just seemed to settle at that pace though, i enjoyed it , so that's all that matters π

Nice one!
Am prevaricating.... I managed to get a thorn in my right foot walking barefoot from the beach on Sunday and then tripped up the unfamiliar staircase yesterday evening and bruised my left big toe.
I think you have just convinced me to get out there and just see what happens

well yes, if your ok just go out and do what you want/can !
time or distance are not important , π π

You should come.
It's wildly beautiful, gorgeous in the sunshine and brooding in the cloud/mist like today.

Sounds ideal Instructor. Sometimes theyβre the very best runs, the ones which pick their own pace. I intend to do one of those tomorrow. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ

Nice to get a comfortable run in and you were if course right to slow it down after that 10k! I think the 10ks take it out of me a bit, so apart from my short run of the week, when I up my pace, I keep all the others pretty slow. It was a lovely morning!

Yes, I certainly knew I'd done the 10k on Saturday, couldn't have gone anymore (which is a little disappointing)
Aerobically yes, but my legs were tired .
I will also put the occasional quicker one in but in not to bothered anymore about numbers , π

If Iβve done the maths correctly (which itβs entirely probable I havenβt) it looks like we ran the exact same pace today! Itβs all about the slower runs!

Yes, this run was 7 minutes slower than my 5k PB, but I enjoyed it more π

Well done Ian - yes...slow running..... we all have moments chasing the numbers but reality is ... a snail 5k is the same distance as a hare's 5k
Sounds like a fab run for you

Your right Jane , and for me if was more enjoyable π

Well done, sounds like a lovely run I've been getting a bit hung up on numbers recently (distance/pace) and feel the enjoyment of running starting to ebb. Time to turn off the gadgets and just slow down me thinks!

Absolutely, I find that sometimes !
