After a lovely run yesterday morning (well, lovely in retrospect, it was a bit of a slog in that wind!) I treated myself to an afternoon on the couch and watched the documentary on Fiona Oakes, called Running for Good. It is available to rent on Amazon.
Wow.
It is beyond inspirational. What an amazingly strong, amazingly compassionate woman. And Mummycav, she only has one kneecap too! It focuses mainly on her competing in the Marathon des Sables (which is just bonkers hard). Highly recommended viewing.
Happy Sunday you lovelies.

Yes! I watched this. Isn’t she incredible? No kneecap... she must have tendons and sinews and muscles like iron ropes. And an even stronger mind and will. Quite amazing.
I just cannot believe what she manages to achieve every day! Looking after all those animals and running long distances every day - and all on one meal! She is great testament to veganism though - shuts up all those stupid people who say you cannot be fit and healthy on a vegan diet. And she is so humble about it all too. It was an inspiring watch, eh?
Very much so. I thought the one meal a day was interesting; shows just how much we really need to eat... it’s not much! There seem to be a lot of ultra-athletes who eat vegan these days. And there is certainly a very sound environmental argument for cutting down on meat and dairy. I suspect we are designed to eat what we can when we get our hands on it; but in this modern age of convenience that means absolutely anything, any time! So we need to apply more thought to our choices.
On another note, I watched the Kipchoge documentary ‘Breaking 2’ on YouTube the other day. Also inspirational, in another way 🙂
