So, first outing for the new Cloudflyers and first time I have ever run after 9am in the morning! And fastest 10k. A day of firsts!
I left it later today as it was super cold overnight, so I was convinced it would be too icy early on. Turned out to be the most glorious sunny day here in London, and the pavements were dry and ice free by the time I got out at 10am. We are very lucky with the weather in London, so I should never complain about the little snow we had, especially not with some of the conditions others are suffering under.
Anyways. Highlights today were springy new shoes and a pack of brawling parakeets swooping inches away from my face as I ran, in a sea of green and a cacophony of screeches. Magical.
Hope you are all doing well, lovely running pals.

So glad that you got out for your long run Sadie. Isnβt it glorious? As sunny as yesterday without the northerly wind chill factor. On girl πββοΈβοΈππ
π Thanks dear Dexy! I was over-worrying about it yesterday and need not have! So happy I had a good long run (got to 11k in the end). No ice in sight yay! xxx
Hundreds of them, Flara! I have a resident flock in the tree outside my flat. Noisy, but cute little buggers. π¦ π And thanks, I do love my new Ons. Blue like the sky today. π x
Way to go Sadie-runs even though the bottom half of you is in blue, you're definately not having the blues today π and look at those cool blue Cloud flyers ππ
Well done on your 10k, youre a lovely lady and deserve to have a first for everything xx ππ
Thanks Equi-geek. π New shoes demand a new PB, right? Hope your snow clears soon. I used to love snow. Then I got addicted to running and just find it annoying now! xxx
Thanks Jonathan. π And yes, I like to think of the parakeets as my very own gang of cheerleaders! ππ¦π
Thought I'd already replied to this, but it turns out that was on Strava! Oh social media confuses me so much, I'm too old for this
Well done Sadie, your post has lifted my spirits! Lovely to see you wearing those new shoes, and no snow! Where's it gone? I ran on the lovely flat towpath this morning and there was still snow next to it, and the canal was iced over.
Ha ha! And thanks Neil. It was an uplifting run, what with the blue skies, parakeets and banging new shoes!
Well, to be fair, we had very little snow here to start with. Hope yours clears soon. My park (I like to think of it as *my* park) is awesome. I am very lucky. π
Fantastic Sadie-runs ...I love your new shoes you are definitely a flyer yourself never mind your shoes!!!!! Your run sounds wonderful with the parakeets...are you near a zoo?!!! Haha
The weather here in Yorkshire has turned to rain so it has warmed up slightly, although I just went to the front door and it felt cold!! I've had an extra rest day today as I was experimenting with my stride on my last run and my no knee has been grumbling so I listened to it, but hopefully, I'll be back out there tomorrow...finishing week 3 with a 7k ..fingers crossed...happy running my lovely friend xxx
Mummycav! I was just thinking of you yesterday, wondering how you are! Good lass for listening to your body. Do you take short strides with you foot landing under your body? That works a treat for me.
And thank you π, me and my Flyers are flying right now. Once a week interval training seems to be paying off. π And no, no zoo, just a huge population of gorgeous wild parakeets! London has lots of them, you see them in most of the big parks. So cute and noisy.
For some reason, I'll have to look at my settings, I am missing lots of posts on here, I used to get notified straight away but now I don't always so maybe the settings need tweaking on my new phone?! Sounds wonderful with the parakeets?!
Yes, I do take small steps and land under my body, I know this is how my body runs naturally but I just wanted to experiment and see if I could cover more ground in less time....but I'm not trying again!! I'm just doing what I'm comfortable with xx
