January- the longest month?

I had intended to finish the month with a run, but it froze hard overnight on top of yesterday’s rain, didn’t warm up and so I wimped out! Didn’t want to risk it 🥶 I’ve just been thinking back over the month though - ran 3 times a week totalling 72 kms; adding in the daily dog walking brought my total distance up to 192 km, which seems quite incredible! Managed to make it through Dry January with just one little lapse and discovered that Kopperberg alcohol free cider tastes as good as the real thing. Lost 7lbs - admittedly that does include the 5lbs I put on over Xmas, but so what! So February tomorrow - looking forward to a glass of wine, annual skiing holiday in two weeks and to the evenings continuing to get lighter. Hope you have all come out of January feeling in a good place 😃😃

I don’t blame you not going out on the ice today Sandie . I Hope our parkrun doesn’t get called off in the big freeze . ☃️

You’ve had a brilliant month of running.

Thanks Dexy. The forecast isn’t great for Saturday, but I’m planning to wrap up warm and get out there 🏃‍♀️

Fantastic achievement Sandie - that’s a lot of running/walking kms! 👏👏👏

It has been a long month, and by golly it’s cold at the moment, but at least the daylight hours are getting longer at last. I can’t wait for early morning runs. 😍🏃‍♀️👍

Enjoy your skiing holiday! I can’t wait for my trip to Tenerife at the beginning of March with my 2 daughters - our annual girls week away. Can’t come soon enough! ☀️ 🏖 🏃‍♀️❤️

How wonderful to have time away with your girls, especially somewhere warm. The only thing that would tempt my son would be skiing and, as he was in the Bristol Uni ski team, he leaves me standing, so we wouldn’t really spend much time together even if we did go!

Wow, bet he’s a fantastic skier! He could use them today to get down Park Street as it’s still snowing here. Was he in Bristol for the waterslide they set up on it? Fantastic! 😀👍👏

I’m doubtful about parkrun tomorrow - all hills and paved paths. Not a great combo in the snow! Boo. 👎👎👎

Just started snowing here too - will have to keep an eye out for parkrun announcements. I see yours has been cancelled. Yes, he first went on a ski holiday at 5 months old (not that he was skiing 😂) and was on skis almost as soon as he could walk. It’s his absolute passion in life - highly inconvenient in Lincolnshire! He hasn’t mentioned the water slide, but that wouldn’t be unusual.

Better safe than sorry x
