What a pleasant surprise, hand delivered by our fabulous shorts-clad postie just now (and in this weather too! βοΈπ₯Ά)
I would love more than anything to go for a test trot, but Iβm resisting as a) Iβve already done my run today and b) Iβm going to take them along to my gait analysis on Tuesday to make sure they donβt need corrective insoles, or even need returning (hope not π€) But oh, how I want to hit the trails! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
As for todayβs run, well it was at the gym so consequently I kept it short and just sweated out 3.5k at 8kph with some hills. I was talking to a lady whoβd just been for a swim and was saying how cold she felt in the changing room. Thatβs with me resembling a π with sweat running down my spine! π₯΅
Parkrun on Saturday (snow on the paths depending I suppose), then Iβll be all excited for my gait analysis and more than likely yet more π. Oh how I love my new pastime! π
Happy running everyone, and stay warm and safe. β€οΈπββοΈπβ€οΈ

A fine looking pair of trainers CC!! PBS written all over them.π₯
Glad you are managing to contain your excitement enough to get your gait checked out. I have reverted to my road shoes and my calves are back to what passes for normal! Heading to running shop to sort out insoles for my trail shoes soon. π₯Ύπ₯Ύ
Wonderful news about your calves BC, I bet youβre relieved about that! ππ Will you need another gait analysis for your trail shoes?
My feet and legs are *touch wood* pain free at the moment, but having had plantar fasciitis in the past I certainly donβt want to get it again. My current trainers have been amazing, but they werenβt that expensive (I know price isnβt everything), and I want to make sure they donβt start being less supportive after nearly 8 months of constant use. I expect Iβll be advised to get more - anyway itβs my birthday pressie so I hope I do!
These new trail shoes are a present to myself! Iβll give them a whirl next week! ππ
Rather snazzy shoes cheeky. Almost seems a shame to get them dirty, but needs must. Not long now before you can try them out - feel a PB coming on ππββοΈπββοΈ
Oooh I love that colour π So when you run people can see flashes of bright pink on your soles, love it! That shade of pink matches the colour on my face sometimes ππ
Isnβt it lovely IP? π Not for long once I hit the trails I fear! And yes, my face was definitely that colour after my treadmill run this morning too! π π π
Thanks Deals, trail running will be a whole new experience for me and I canβt wait! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
I love a new welly OL! I used to own horses and they were my everyday item of footwear. We used to get excited about new wellies and new brooms (which needed test-sweeping first around the shop) π€π
Oooo, lovely! They look very like my studded winter ASICS, but without the studs. I did notice they did trail ones similar too, but tried to resist for now. I do accidentally own a pair of trail shoes (bought as climbing approach shoes, but not yet run in!) so I feel I should try those out at some point first.
Hope you have many happy trail miles together Cheeky! πβ€οΈ
Thanks MD! I like Asics and know they fit well, which is why I chose these - plus I loved the pink soles! Iβll be trying them out next week and I canβt wait! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Youβve given me an idea if the gait analysis people say theyβre no good for me to run in for any reason (although obviously Iβm hoping they are π€) - Iβll wear them walking in the summer. πΆββοΈ
Have a go with yours too. Iβve never run trails, but reading all the reports on here about how fun it is, I had to join the party. πππ
I was out walking locally in my walking boots on Sunday, and the mud in the fields was the type that sticks so thickly to your boots that you are slipping along with great thick clods attached... I think Iβd rather try trails during a warm, dry spell! ππβ€οΈ
Ooh they are lovely. I've been looking for places near me that do gait analysis, but it looks like I'm going to have to travel, or (gasp!) go into London π± the horror!
Oh no, really GOG? What a pain. π We have quite a few places near here that do them. My husband picked the one Iβm going to on Tuesday. Iβm quite nervous actually - bring scrutinised! I suppose thatβs the whole point though. π€·ββοΈ
Yes it's odd. There's a local shop where the guy just sort of sizes you up, but he had nothing in my size. There's one not far away where they do GA, I called in when my foot was still too painful to do it, and they had two pairs that sort of fit, only one pair was comfortable, but not great, so there's no point going there. Honestly, my feet look perfectly normal, they're just a bit narrower than average. So I need somewhere with a huge selection. Gah.
Deferred gratification is what they call it cheeky. Just drool over them for a few days until that gait analysis. Youβll love them all the more. ππ
