Today is my usual treadmill day as I have less time on a Thursday. But I simply didnβt fancy it today knowing that the weather was ok. Treadmills are useful for lashing rain, gale force winds or ice/snow in my opinion. Otherwise π
So my dog and I headed for the local common and Iβm mighty pleased I did (so was she!) What bonus weather - I didnβt expect it to be so beautiful. Winter sun, slightly frosty and downright perfect for a little trot. I was unsure whether to do 3k or 4k, so off I went, nothing fancy. Clocked up 4k in the end and walked around for a while to enjoy the weather and let my dog have a little extra sniffing time (great smells on the common!) πβ€οΈπ
I then approached a hill. And off I sprinted! Not very far, but it was exhilarating and my breathing felt great! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ I approached another and did it again. Next week Iβm off up there again to get some more of that malarkey! Who knew this little π could sprint, let alone up a hill! π
Happy running lovely VRBs. β€οΈ

Oh I know BC, I find myself scoping out hills nowadays wondering what theyβd be like to run up! Thereβs one near my regular route which looks like a killer - and itβs my goal some day to conquer it! πͺππββοΈ
No snail shedding yet Jell. Theyβre still firmly by my side (or ahead of me) on my longer runs! But I must admit I enjoyed my little sprints and canβt wait to try again! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Nice run... Iβm guessing the dog isnβt a treadmill fan either π. Hill sprints are great for pushing muscle development... well done choosing to do some. Have a great next run.
Thank you UNM, Iβm definitely going to do more of the same as I strangely enjoyed it. My dog was quite surprised at my turn of speed and began jumping around in excitement! π ππββοΈ
Thanks 61! Oh I love my watch. So many stats to pore over when I get home. Unfortunately as the sprints werenβt part of my 4K, I didnβt record them, but I will next time. ππββοΈπ
Yay! Hills are the new errrrrm..... flat?π€ Well done Cheeks! I've just added Chariots of Fire and Black Beauty to my playlist, not even joking!! π€¦ββοΈπ¦
Awesome tunes Flara! The kind of tunes that make you run in slow mo towards a beautiful sunset! ππββοΈπ
I know, check me out being a hill fan all of a sudden! π€πββοΈπ
Sounds fab. The cold has defeated me today - still debating whether to go out π₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Άπ₯Ά
Itβs not so nice now, a bit dull and dingy, but Iβm sure youβd feel great once you got going Flick. Why not have a go and see what transpires? Bet you wonβt regret it! πββοΈππββοΈ
Bizarre eh Runsome?! Bristol is a very hilly city and most runs have them, so I thought Iβd better grow to love them ..... maybe loveβs a bit of a strong word, but I donβt dread them as much now! ππ
Oh too right TC. I knew I didnβt fancy the gym this morning and Iβm so glad I went to the common instead. And the hills were beckoning to me ...... yep, how strange is that! π πββοΈ
Brilliant Cheeky! Hills now in your repertoire and more of the world opening up to you. I did a 5k this morning, but, after a good fast start, hit a metaphorical wall and borrowed a few of your πππ to slowly jog home!
Iβm so glad the πππ were able to assist you today Sandie! I find them very useful and they always turn a run around if itβs not going as planned. π
Yes, Iβm already looking to next weekβs sprint session up the hills. I just hope it doesnβt rain much in the meantime as I donβt have trail shoes. Ooooo - shopping opportunity! π
Gorgeous..these unexpected runs are a real delight..well done you..Lovely...and a hill too...I had a hill today...crawled up mine..sprinted down it though.. xx
