Today is my usual treadmill day as I have less time on a Thursday. But I simply didn’t fancy it today knowing that the weather was ok. Treadmills are useful for lashing rain, gale force winds or ice/snow in my opinion. Otherwise 😖
So my dog and I headed for the local common and I’m mighty pleased I did (so was she!) What bonus weather - I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful. Winter sun, slightly frosty and downright perfect for a little trot. I was unsure whether to do 3k or 4k, so off I went, nothing fancy. Clocked up 4k in the end and walked around for a while to enjoy the weather and let my dog have a little extra sniffing time (great smells on the common!) 🐕❤️🐕
I then approached a hill. And off I sprinted! Not very far, but it was exhilarating and my breathing felt great! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ I approached another and did it again. Next week I’m off up there again to get some more of that malarkey! Who knew this little 🐌 could sprint, let alone up a hill! 😅

Oh I know BC, I find myself scoping out hills nowadays wondering what they’d be like to run up! There’s one near my regular route which looks like a killer - and it’s my goal some day to conquer it! 💪😀🏃♀️
No snail shedding yet Jell. They’re still firmly by my side (or ahead of me) on my longer runs! But I must admit I enjoyed my little sprints and can’t wait to try again! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Nice run... I’m guessing the dog isn’t a treadmill fan either 😂. Hill sprints are great for pushing muscle development... well done choosing to do some. Have a great next run.

It’s not so nice now, a bit dull and dingy, but I’m sure you’d feel great once you got going Flick. Why not have a go and see what transpires? Bet you won’t regret it! 🏃♀️😀🏃♀️
Bizarre eh Runsome?! Bristol is a very hilly city and most runs have them, so I thought I’d better grow to love them ..... maybe love’s a bit of a strong word, but I don’t dread them as much now! 😀👍
Oh too right TC. I knew I didn’t fancy the gym this morning and I’m so glad I went to the common instead. And the hills were beckoning to me ...... yep, how strange is that! 😅🏃♀️
Brilliant Cheeky! Hills now in your repertoire and more of the world opening up to you. I did a 5k this morning, but, after a good fast start, hit a metaphorical wall and borrowed a few of your 🐌🐌🐌 to slowly jog home!

Yes, I’m already looking to next week’s sprint session up the hills. I just hope it doesn’t rain much in the meantime as I don’t have trail shoes. Ooooo - shopping opportunity! 😈
