My target for this month was the same as last: run 50 miles. I was shocked last month to do it but I now knew I could. Unfortunately my back decided to take a large chunk of the beginning of the month so I came to the conclusion I wasn’t going to make it. That was until I realised at the beginning of last week that I could...
So, I have just done 7 days running straight...the first time I’ve done it. Christmas week and I’ve run 20 miles...blimey! I laughed in the face of enormous Christmas calorie intake 😎🤣😎
Thank you to Katnap , he has been by my side for most of it but he’s hurt his paw now, so I was out with the two kittens tonight (eldest kitten had a lovely pair of compression leggings in his Christmas stocking which he was trying out) and they helped me get my last 2.5 miles!
And, I got a podium finish in my age category (3rd out of 12) at Parkrun on Saturday, so all in all a very good end to an amazing month and an extra amazing year!
But can’t stop there...Parkrun NYD volunteering and running beckons in the morning... and Regency Run 10k entries open tomorrow too 😱
Happy and Fantastic New Running Year everyone! Thank you for all your support since I’ve been doing this, you’re all amazing! 🥳🥳🥳❤️🦆

Yes, it has been Dexy. Quite a journey, I don’t know how we can top it this year but you never know! Happy new year to you and UpTheStanley , best wishes for a continued fantastic running journey 🥳👍😀
That’s so great tailchaser and a podium finish too. 🏃🏼♀️👏👏👏👏. I am so envious you have the kittens running. My 2 run in the opposite direction when I suggest running with me. I want to think it’s becuase they worry they won’t keep up but it’s not. Gym lads are obviously way too cool to be seen running with their red faced puffing mum.
Thanks Wimborne. Eldest kitten says it was the constant nagging and cajouling but I think he felt he was missing out a little too once Katnap joined in. He now enjoys beating me at the sprint finish and I’m more than happy to let him as he did very little exercise before. Youngest kitten has always been more sporty but the teenage hormones are kicking in so it is getting harder to drag him away from his phone. Main thing is your lads are already doing something, which is fantastic! Happy new year and happy running! 🥳😀
