Trail or Road

In short, talked into running a half marathon in September so plenty of time to prepare. I have a 12 mile mildly hilly trail run around the surrounding villages where I live, so my question is:- Would it be better/more advantages to train on that terrain, rather than a road so come the actual day, I won't find it as challenging!! Or am I kidding myself?

train on the trail, its so more fun, and will prepare you better. You might want to do your intervals on the road tho....

I prefer trail runs.... expect the un- expected, it means you are ready for anything. Just ensure you have the correct shoes πŸ‘Ÿ

I train on my tricky trail. I believe it sets me up for races It’s less traffic fumes to ingest as well The varying terrain really helps make you stronger, top to toe You vary the speed too as you have to scamper, quickly change direction, climb hilly bits slowly, makes descents. It’s fab πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸ˜ƒ. I trained on my trail for a flat marathon and i’m Sure it was the right thing to do It was nothing like as strenuous as the training I’d done

Thank you for that misswobble, that does fills me with confidence. I shall look forward to training in the new year, no point starting now as I've got too much food and drink to consume first! Thanks again, have a lovely Christmas!

Start now πŸ’ͺπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘ you need to shape up for the task Start now and dodge the stodge. If you fill up with Christmas excess you’ll be hauling it around with you for months πŸ™ˆπŸ˜ƒ

Miss Wobble, I've got more chance of solving Brexit and creating World Peace than starting a training schedule 4 days before Christmas!πŸ˜ƒ

I will probably be Mr Wobble too at the beginning of next year, but hey ho!πŸ˜†

I'm not saying that I like to party, but, I do like to party!πŸŽ‰πŸŒ²πŸ·πŸ˜„
