In short, talked into running a half marathon in September so plenty of time to prepare. I have a 12 mile mildly hilly trail run around the surrounding villages where I live, so my question is:- Would it be better/more advantages to train on that terrain, rather than a road so come the actual day, I won't find it as challenging!! Or am I kidding myself?

I train on my tricky trail. I believe it sets me up for races It’s less traffic fumes to ingest as well The varying terrain really helps make you stronger, top to toe You vary the speed too as you have to scamper, quickly change direction, climb hilly bits slowly, makes descents. It’s fab 👍💪😃. I trained on my trail for a flat marathon and i’m Sure it was the right thing to do It was nothing like as strenuous as the training I’d done
