Hi.. my instep is very painful and my foot swells... been using ice and pain relief gel.. missed two runs now and it’s really getting to me... any suggestions?

It sounds like it could be plantar fasciitis Moodymoo. Have a google and see if your symptoms match, or better still pop to your GP if it’s really bad.
I had it fairly mildly when I started running in the summer, and my trainers weren’t supportive enough. I switched them and was able to continue running. I was prepared to stop if necessary, but didn’t need to. I found compression socks helped, and plenty of stretching.
I might be barking up the wrong tree, so please check, but my instep and heel on my left foot were affected, so it sounds similar.
Good news is it’s totally gone now, so you might be ok if you nip it in the bud. Good luck!

Are you wearing the correct socks... and shoes? If after treating it at home, it does not improve, please get it checked out We are not experts... and it could be many, many things...
Do you mean the top or the bottom of your foot? Either way, see a GP xxx
