First French 5km

So it is warm here is SW France and the beautiful vistas are achieved by the undulating ground. Not the best conditions for running, but we do what we can. Having your Bestie to run with helps, but when she is super-speedy and I give enthusiastic snails a run for their money, we do sometimes have to do our own thing. Today was that sort of day. We did meet up and run the same route (which is good for me as it keeps me going, I don’t want to let the old girl down by wimping out) but she had disappeared as soon as we crossed the car park. We ran just over 2 circuits of the short end of the lake to get our 5k. It is flat (29feet of climbing according to strava) and the terrain is off road but reasonably even and it is in the shade for most of it. Any way I kept trundling along and Sandie was there at the end to help me get my full distance in. I was please I had managed to keep going and ran the whole distance. I was not expecting much in the way of stats but Strava has given me a PB for my 5k effort, so very chuffed with that.

Well done SAR! A PB is always worth a celebration! I feel your pain though - I’m at the back from the off and see the gap widening every step! But we’re doing so no matter! Enjoy your time in France!
