I've just signed up for Race for Life 10K, only started running 4 month ago, on 12th Park Run, and the furthest I've ran is 4 miles, I'm i being over ambitious
10K: I've just signed up for Race for Life 10K... - Bridge to 10K

I've just come into this forum to ask the very same question! I'm only just about to start week 7 of the C25K plan, but am already thinking ahead to May next year, when I'm considering signing up for the ABP 10K. I'm wondering, too, if I'm being over-ambitious, so I'll be interested what people think. From my point of view, signing up to another challenge is a great way to stay motivated.
As my comments above amerynthe. Consolidate for at least 3 weeks after graduation and get to the stage where you are happy to run 5k before starting the plan to 10k. I left it 3 months before I moved onto it but some did it after a month. Good luck with graduation!
Thanks for the advice. I will take it steady and the 10K isn't until May next year, so there is time for me to consolidate before considering a longer run.
If you are already running 5k in November you can certainly get to 10k by May.
Hello piglet, you have got loads of time to get to 10k. Now you feel happy running 5k , you can start doing juju’s magic plan to 10k which lasts 8 weeks. No need to rush it, your body will let you know when it’s ready to go further. The main rule is don’t increase your weekly distance by more than 10% a week. You may want to delay until January if you’ve got lots going on. Good luck.
thank you for you advice Dexy5, i enjoyed having the C25K app telling me when to run and when to walk, is there a similar one for 10K (i've got an android phone)
You can do it piglet! 😸
