Last week was my first 10k but I was doubting myself if I could do it again this week. Anyway following a 12.5hr night shift and 4 hours sleep as I’m day shift tomorrow I got kit on and went for it. Managed it not easy not any quicker but it felt good once it was done. So hopefully I can manage one each week along with 2 other shorter ones that’s my plan x

EXcellent. I bet it gets easier from now on.

Sounds like a good plan. I did a long slow run today. Got a bit lost so abandoned the planned loop and headed home. Would have been 10K but stopped short to chat to a mate at exactly 6.00 miles. Never out of breath but I do feel things starting to ache a bit so I'm going to be building the long run distance in small increments.

My legs ache after 5-6k but it’s by the half way home mark so it helps not enjoyable at all but feel great after it and will sleep well tonight

Well done. I’m in a similar position. I did my 1st 10k last Sunday and aiming to did it again this coming Sunday to prove it wasn’t a fluke.

I like that idea of doing just one 10k run a week and then doing two shorter runs. It will probably help with motivation and then with building stamina.

Well done! They do get easier, and your plan will work nicely but you might want to ease off once a month and also do some interval or hill work on your shorter runs, for fun :D

Thanks for the advice new to this I don’t think I want to go any further than 10k mind you I said that after 5k but even the time factor of 10k is plenty x
