Ok so it was meant to be 3.5k for my short run this week according to Magic 10, but it was so gorgeous this morning, how could I resist the extra 0.5k? 😀
Also, totally out of character for me, I ran somewhere different. 😲 I was in a bit of a rush today, and whereas I’d have had time to go to the gym, there are roadworks and diversions en route, and I couldn’t risk going miles out the way. My regular route would have entailed Bristol rush hour traffic (no thank you), so I stayed threw caution to the wind and stayed local.
Well, what a revelation! The common where I often walk my dog! It’s beautiful and funky all at once. All off road, rural landscape, lovely views - but with planes taking off or landing where you can practically see the pilot’s eyebrows! ✈️
My dog was able to run free and play while I trotted around happily on the frosty grass in bright sunshine - and 4k sorted! What a bonus route! 👍 I’ll use it again, although it’s renowned for fog or high winds as it’s very exposed, so I’ll have to pick and choose. But for today, perfect! 😀🏃♀️

Yeah pick and choose away 😃👍. A mix of routes gives you the best of all worlds, with a mix of terrains and surfaces, changes of level, slopes and hills It’s all good 😃👍🏃♀️🐕
Must be something in the air! Found a hidden gem myself this morning I know that area a little (OH is a pilot) so I can just imagine how glorious that must have felt today! What a super run ☺️🏃♀️👊
Absolutely, TC. It’s the closest running route to my house. It’s 1/2 a mile away but I still drive as there’s no pavement on our road! 😳 It’s really lovely and I’ve promised myself I’ll run there more often. 😀 My dog adores it! ❤️🐕
Thanks Beanjo, yes I’m still happy thinking about it now! I’ll definitely run up there again. It’s a no brainer as it’s so close to my house compared to my normal route and parkrun! 😀🏃♀️
Wonderful run cheeky 😁 The common sounds like a perfect spot to add to the running routes plus I find it more motivating when there's a choice of routes.
I just finished my second 10k, just! I've done two long runs already this week, possibly stupidly 😆😜🏃♀️ Strength work tomorrow, parkrun Sat!
