Hi everyone, been a while since I posted..... a small annoying foot problem has meant a self prescribed period of non running... and a physio appt in a couple of weeks.
But I’ve been lurking here and there and starting to feel a bit more positive as the discomfort subsides.
I recently read roseabi ‘s HM plan and realised I also didn’t have a plan to aim for! I had reached 10k in September and ran into the start of October before my break, but with longer intervals.... no plan, easier to put off.
Then a running friend of mine posted about running or being active everyday in January.
It’s aimed at helping mental health, seemingly in the hardest month of the year, but the idea is fantastic. Run, walk, swim each day of the month. For those that have been following ju-ju- and are thinking of joining @roseabi on the HM journey, this feels like a perfect complement.
You can be sponsored or not, just do it for you. I’m not affiliated or connected to them in any way....... I just liked the idea 😊
Happy running everyone 💕

Sorry to hear about your poorly foot, Mitch. 😕 Glad to hear that the pain is subsiding though and that you will be seeing a physio too. Running injuries are SO frustrating, aren’t they?!
Running got me through last January and I hope it will do so again! It can be the hardest time of year to get out there; I have motivated myself by buying a gorgeous merino wool hat to keep me warm. Rather than dreading January, I am now looking forward to a chance to wear my new hat! The RED campaign is fantastic. I for one know how beneficial running/exercise can be for mental health, especially in the bleaker months of the year.
Hope you are up and running again soon, Mitch. All the best.
Hey you ❤️ - yes the pain is no longer there but it just feels “dead” on the ball of my foot. But at the same time I can always feel it and if I’ve been on my feet a lot, it can start to hurt.
Very hard to describe!
But I have a plan for Jan (maybe Dec), and hopefully pending physio I can jump on the HM plan... just might take a bit longer. I have (more) new trainers and running lights, hi vis jacket - now I just need to use them! 🤣
😘 The physio will be able to sort you out, Mitch, they are miracle workers. 👏👏👏 Not much they cannot fix.
HM? I need another 6 months of pondering it before I commit to that! (It took me 6 months to work up courage to take on the 10k plan! 😂) But you will nail it.
I'm am sorry to hear about your little foot problem but glad to know you are on the mend.
Just had a look at the web page for Red January, and it looks like a fab idea, might even be able to get the family to join in (but not holding my breath on that one ;d ).
Are you thinking about joining a HM plan? If you are, you're way ahead of me, I've only just got my 10k badge
Hey Julian - yes have put my name down for the HM plan, and you’re ahead of me now lol. If you’ve just done your 10k, it’s the perfect time to keep training up to HM. The plan looks very sensible, but I’ll need to get back to 10k, then either accelerate a bit of just lash behind - depends on advice from physio.
It’s the same with my family, they talk about wanting to do it, but “doing it” is something else! Lol.
Hi Mitch. Hope your foot heals very soon and you’re back to the running shortly. I’m doing RED January also - my t-shirt and laces arrived last week - as I too feel I need a focus. And I hate January! Great to see you back here too. ❤️🏃x
Good to hear from you Mitch, but sorry about the foot. I’m a bit all over the place at the moment, but still runnng. Will be joining you on roseabis HM plan once it starts, though planning a HM for May rather than the official March aim, just before my 50th...❤️
A HM may be a bit beyond what my joints can cope with - as 10 miles was 2h 6m. But I’ll look up red January anyway 🤣. Hope your feet stay well from now on Mitch 👍
