Bad Baddie

I was bad. I bought junk food at the supermarket as well as the eggs I'd gone for. I ate some of it on the way home when I shouldn't have, then thought I can't go for a run because I've just eaten.

Anyway I did actually go for a slow 5km because I have to stay focused. The sponsored 10km on 26th Oct is now official so I have to do it! Yikes! What happens if I'm having an exhausted day, or it's blowing a hooley? I'll still have to do it now! Work want pictures and I still go out in my cut off jeans looking like a bag lady. Maybe it's time to get a tracksuit?

According to Runkeeper I have now run 131 in my zoomy red trainers. That's amazing!

Yeah get some proper running kecks, shorts etc. Cheap as chips but wick sweat away from your body so you don’t get the chills 😃👍

Shorts? Summer is over! I'm thinking something a bit warmer for my poor old legs!

You’ll be fine on your 10k Baddie! Just imagine how streamlined you’ll feel in proper kit? If I wore cut-off jeans they’d weigh me down and I’d be even slower!

As for junk food - we all do it sometimes don’t we? (I do 🙋‍♀️). The fact you were still able to do a 5k after is good. Not sure I could!

Looking forward to your race report! Good luck. 😀😀😀

Well done Baddie for still getting out there. There are lots of inexpensive options for running leggings, my winter ones came from M&S but I see others are happy with leggings they bought in Tescos, or if you fancy something a bit more exuberant, tikkiboo are great, I wear my cow print capris at every opportunity and don’t care that I have a heifer-sized bum to match! 😂

I bought a stretchy waist band to put my phone keys etc in dead cheap off amazon x

in reply toBaddieThePirate

Both Tikiboo and Strudy by Design have a zippocket in the back of the waist band. But I wear my phone in an armband. One I have has two compartments so you can carry other stuff too.

Get yourself some new kit baddie, tikiboo and sturdy by design have sales on at the moment, both of their leggings have zip pockets at back of waistband, you’ll feel like a million bucks in them. Lotsa water day before. Exhausted? Blowing a hooley? Have a little walk/breather and carry on, if you can focus and do 5k unprepared, well done by the way, you can do 10k prepared and have some fun too 👍

Oooh, have they? But I’ve got ten pairs already 😢

A quick Google of Pirate Leggings brought up some interesting options.

Nothing wrong with junk food - just consume AFTER a run, not before. I used to eat a bag of donuts at one sitting. It seems that my inherent fitness is kicking in after nearly a year of running, and I find I can no longer indulge in, in fact have no desire for such food and can’t overeat anymore, so enjoy your junk while you still can! 😈

I can do a 6 pack

(of frozen chocolate eclairs) in one go. Would love to lose my sweet tooth. I am getting better with age. Got a way to go though
