After two disappointing shorter runs and heart rate all over the place, I thought that I had no chance of making 8k today. I decided to set off as slowly as I could possibly run, and see how far I got. Result 8k done with average heart beat of 135 pm. Of course it is probably the slowest run 8k in history at a pace of 8:54 per km, resulting in a time of 1 hour 11 minutes and 19 seconds. I am pleased though that I have managed to run for over an hour!! Thanks to everyone for their advice and support. I am always telling others to take it slowly.....finally had the sense to take my own advice!! Now for a celebratory spag bogs!!

Well done Beachcomber66, don’t worry about your time, it’s the distance that counts. You are doing great 🏃♀️👏👏
Thanks Dexy 5. Only glitch was when I had to scramble to avoid a dog which decided to have a nip at my ankles at the 7.5k point! I waited for the calf pull or cramp, but fortunately (for the dog owner as well as me!!!) all was well. I could have run on beyond 8k, but decided that discretion was called for, especially in view of your unlucky fall. You will soon be notching up your 10k!!😊
