I just can't believe how kind the weather has been – another beautiful morning for a run. Makes up for the sweltering heat of June and July when I was getting into C25K.
A 5k completed my week 6. I watched the 'Get fit in 6 minutes' video on YouTube and I'm about half way through 'Born to Run' by Christopher McDougall, so went out in an upbeat mindset. As an experiment, I had downloaded a 180 bpm running playlist from Spotify. Oh my days, what a difference it made! I beat the 30 minute mark on a 5k for my first time without setting it as a goal. My intention was to run slow and steady.
I've also learnt how to use my Garmin, so recorded my run stats. There were a few squirrels dashing around and I met a couple of dogwalkers but otherwise my route was blissfully quiet. Another excellent fun run! Week 7 starts on Thursday and I'll do the 4k first, leaving the 9k for the weekend. Happy running!

Thank you! I can definitely feel it in my leg muscles today. I'll be getting my foam roller out later. Good luck with the programme. I've found I need to take more care over music choices as the runs get longer. My boredom threshold is about 30 mins!
They are certainly very effective. I've found it slightly less agonising stretching my hamstrings using the roller than sitting with my back against a wall at 90º to my legs flat on the floor.
