Hello all. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their running!
Have you noticed how red many of the leaves are turning.......must be the great summer we have had maybe?
But for now, the cooler weather is perfect for running............yeahhhhhhhh at last 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻😎👍🏼.
So folks, this is Week 2 of our ‘Be awesome in October’ Quest.
The Quest will run through to the end of the month, with weekly Monday update posts throughout. Happy running everyone!
What the Quest is;
The Quest takes one calendar month . You can join at any point during that time.
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............
Every week of October I will put up a new post and we can have a good old natter on how we are doing. It’s going to be awesome folks😃
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep should you wish to.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and awesome month x

I have managed to pick up a bit of a virus, so had to parr down a bit this past week 🙁. I have managed a couple of gentle yoga sessions, and walks so I am happy with that. Also I have had a alcohol free month so far 👍🏼
Acers,autumn blaze variety,in the foreground.🤔me thinks.🤔
Hope you get above par quickly Millsie.👏👏
Busy with Abi’s speed challenge and building upto 50-60km/week.
Not however concurrently.🙈😂
This motivational magic forum and running the golden thread that binds it together, what is not to like.
Mitochondria replacement, 7 hours of life for every one hour of running, 10% potential increase in VO2 max for 12 weeks of exercise, mind blowing stuff on here.
Hello Millsie, what a lovely autumn picture again.
My ambitions for this month have been altered by my fall last week, so I will
Keep taking the antibiotics
Try and get to see practice nurse tomorrow (severely protected by receptionist)
Do something nice instead of running
Do some calf and ankle exercises.
Have a great 🏃♀️🏃♂️ time everyone
Edit: hoorah I’ve seen the practice nurse and she’s a runner. The first one not to tell me sport is dangerous. Four following appointments booked- I’m happy.
- I have run 3 times including the longest run I have ever done(!), getting drenched at Parkrun and a run that I attempted to do intervals for the first time...badly
- I have started building up to 3x2 minute planks on rest days (currently 1x2 & 2x1)
- I’ve done 1 yoga and 1 gym
So I’ve worked out how to set intervals on my Fitbit now and hopefully I’ll have enough oxygen going to my brain next week to be able to count as well, which together should help make the intervals go a bit better 😂
First week of the quest went to plan - managed to complete 3 runs and 1 was 8km (haven't managed that since early August). Also attended my first Core Restore class - we got homework to do!
