Well everything smells like autumn all of a sudden. Loving it. Not so keen that it means slugs will be out again - not a fan and that one was the size of a Mars bar (no not the ones we used to get - the shrunken modern one!). Anyway missed him and I’m off. Not sure where I’m off to but will turn round eventually. Rookie mistake - didn’t start my timer. That’s ok as I don’t need to know - right? Breathing is good but legs feel heavy. Take a few walks (short and to be fair not essential). On the way back begin to link things. Heavy legs lead to short walks lead to no breathing problems!! And here was me thinking that a couple of weeks at altitude had transformed me! (albeit temporary). Ok just need to ask VR buddies about the causes/ fixes for heavy legs. Maybe need Sarah again to keep me going. I used to not stop until she told me I could (you’re doing very well pet). Nearly done but another path taken as I can go a bit further. Home stretch and another revelation! What did I do on holiday? Travel over 5000 miles. How did this happen? In a (very comfy) car. Did I go running? No. Any long walks/hikes? Sadly no? Could this be the cause of heavy legs? VR buddies I fear I may not need you (today anyway!).
On the bright side I was out for over 36 min, over 4.7k and it was fun (if you don’t count the slug!).

Just keep at it, regular running. if you haven’t run for a while and are tired this could be why you have heavy legs. Keep at it though and rest up inbetween.
Surprisingly I’m not downhearted! Still committed to 3 runs and having fun. Test will be when the cold and wet hit as I’ve not run in either yet! All my runs have also been solo (not counting parkruns and one unsuccessful run with a friend) so considering a running club make sure I don’t lapse.
