Really stiff painful ankle first and then a grim cold. I've done lots of ankle exercises and that eased off nicely and I learned some useful stuff in the process! The cold dragged on and didn't feel up to running but as time went on I was scared about being set back and also wondering how my ankle would behave once I got back to it. Horrible fear of it just not being up to the job and the thought of losing running is terrible haha! Sad that I didn't get to do my seaside holiday run that I'd been hoping for last week BUT today in a very slow cautious way finally got my run. So happy with how it went. I managed my 5K with only a couple of walking pauses to gulp some water but no more than usual really. A couple of minutes slower than usual but it felt comfortable and good. It is a massive relief and I won't be hurrying back to increasing my pace. Slow and steady! Thanks all who gave advice!
