Yesterday's 5k completed my week 5. After not running since Saturday I wondered how it would feel. It has been really pleasant having a short break because the slight stiffness I get the day after running completely faded away.
The run was fine. I intentionally took it easy, taking 33 minutes. When I entered the field there were 2 muntjac deer eating grass. They watched me intently as I jogged closer to them then turned and bounded off about 50 metres then turned to watch me again. We repeated this a few times until they got bored and jumped the hedge into the next field.
Otherwise, a good routine run in very pleasant conditions. I'm looking forward to making the most of the early evening daylight while we still have some, starting tomorrow after work, for my 4k.

That sounds like a nice 5k Flyingred with the muntjac deer watching you approach. Happy running in W6 - I found I was quite tired after W5 so I delayed the 9k for an extra day and in the end it seemed easier than 8k because it was cooler and I got the pace just right. That is until a little incident.......
I'm not sure about the dark mornings and evenings either! That said, I've bought a headtorch and am prepared to give night running a go if there's no other option. I'm lucky that I have some say/choice in my hours so can probably fit in a run during daylight and in the worst case delay my run by a day. The wildlife is pretty amazing!
