Hi there. So I started running on July 16th and I've been running 3 times a week since then up to graduation a couple of weeks ago. I'm now up to 2x 5K and maybe another 4K weekly, but now I'm having headaches pretty much constantly and feeling quite rough - I don't think I've got a cold or anything. Do you think it's running that could be causing it? I am pretty overweight and I do have high blood pressure although it's being monitored and it hasn't been particularly high recently.
My husband says I should take a break from running but I don't want to. Anyone else had this?

Could you be dehydrated? I can get headaches after my longer 10k runs but I’ve learnt to have a rehydrating/isotonic drink when I get back. It doesn’t always work but only lasts that one day. 😊
Hi Lil, I’m with Ripcurl, it could be dehydration, you are doing so great with your runs - impressive!, I’m overweight too and take two days between runs, I drink loads of water the day before a run not on the same day as a run (look away now chaps) (wee problems) try drinking more water and if the headaches persist maybe see your doctor, don’t take a break from running yet unless your doctor says you should. 🥝
Well done on what you have achieved. That is fantastic progress. In addition to hydration it would be good to check your shoulders. Make sure you are relaxing your neck and shoulders when you run. You may be giving Yourself a headache if you are tense.
