Flying sticks, acorns and beech nuts!

Well I never imagined that when I started running I would be bombarded with the above! I started jogging along today and after about a minute I ended up flat on my face! I quickly got up, looked around to see if anyone was around and fortunately they weren’t and dusted myself off and continued. I thought to myself what a great start but don’t give up I’ve started so I’ll finish. The next 3k went very well as the wind was either at my back or side on. However the final 2k was tough as I was running into the wind and being bombarded with all sorts and I briefly was glad that I had my glasses on and not contacts as one acorn flew straight into my glasses!! This was a run I won’t forget in a hurry! Happy and safe running everyone 🏃‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️☘️🌪

You're brave being out there! I was just chatting to a colleague making coffee who had just been out turning all the big work trucks round to face the wind so they don't blow over 😲

A conker fell on my head this morning. I am pretty sure it was thrown by a malevolent squirrel. The perils of running down pretty tree-lined streets! Hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell! x

Thanks for your concern but only a trickle of blood! Hope you’re ok too, those pesky squirrels?!

No flesh wounds, just a brief moment of stars and singing birds above my head just like in the cartoons. 😁

Me neither- trouble is tomorrow’s not looking good either. It may be the dreadmill instead

Yikes Jelon , couch dwellers will never know how tough running can be!! An acorn in the eye does not sound like a happy ending?! Maybe we should all get a helmet & goggles for this kind of weather?!!! 💪🏻🏃🏻‍♂️🤔🏃🏼‍♀️

My glasses saved the day... helmet & goggles sounds like a good (and funny!!) idea. I used to think I could just walk out of the door and run but no we have to think have I got .... !
