Never would have imagined a few months back I would have the confidence to run through a crowded park in the middle of the day, wearing Lycra!
It’s my third run back after a three week break and the first 10 minutes were awful. My legs felt heavy, my knees hurt and I just wanted to give up and go home! But I carried on because I know we have to get past that first 10. The pain eased and so did my breathing. Of course there were the bits where I hate running, I have no idea why I’d do it, I’m never going to get any better at it so it’s not worth bothering and all those other things the demons whisper, but mostly it was good, and I loved the sunshine, and then to top it off Strava gave me a whole load of medals including a fastest 5k at 41:20. So maybe I can get better, maybe I can go faster but most importantly I enjoyed (most of) my run today 😎
