First 8k was 1 hour 3, almost exactly what I ran 8k last week. Pace overall down from 7.51 min/k over the 8 to 7.52 min/k over the 9. I’ll take that very happily.
Warm and humid - for the final 1.5k my (fantastic) Adidas mesh running hat was so full of sweat that the brim was dripping and I had to take it off for the cool down walk because it was filling my eye with sweat!
Took Sirens Hill to Born to be wild. Had same split times for the 6th and 7th ks, which pleases me much more than it should!
Got back and my right calf and knee are tender. They started grumbling half way back. Hot bath, lots of rolling, going to keep it as rested as I can.
10k still planned for next week provided the right leg holds out. First run with a local running group on Monday, doing 4k from a pub and back with a drink inside after.
Whatever run you have next, enjoy it x

Good stuff Jay, doing a great job in keeping up that steady and relentless progress It's an interesting idea to run back from the pub after having a drink - not sure I'd be able to manage that!
You’re doing so well, Jay. I’m in awe! Managed my first Parkrun today, so it’s spurred me on to greater things. I’ve got that bloomin’ Manchester 10K to think of!!
9k is my plan for tomorrow morning. Shame it’s my right knee that’s niggling too - if it had been my left then we could have used our 2 good legs between us and tried doing our 10K three-legged! 😂❤️😎
A pub running group sounds fun. Hope you enjoy that.
