Good morning my lovely running family....are you ready for this?? I have just run 9kms....yes, you heard me right...you are looking at a 9k runner!! 9k!! 9 FLIPPIN K!! When did that kind of distance get into my legs? I’ll tell you when...it has taken me 12 months of determination & true Yorkshire grit....I ran the last km with a tear of disbelief running down my cheek..there is no feeling like the feeling after a run like I’ve just had...if you have to explain it to someone who doesn’t run then they just won’t get it...I could not WAIT for Daddycav to wake up this morning so I could tell him my good news...he was chuffed for me too...& a little worried about the roads I’m running on here, I only have one more week to complete & then I will get my second graduation badge...and what a beautiful place to graduate!! I think I will have more than one tear on my face when I eventually run the big 10! Happy running everyone, where ever you are xxxx
I’ve put a pic on for you Oldfloss

Woo hoo Hidden ! I can’t believe it!! I’m nearly there....if I’d have pushed I could prob have done 10 but I am sticking to the rules...coz it’s working! Thank you 😊 and yes, it’s a bit cooler now, this morning is the first time I’ve seen my breath in France!! I’m going to smile all day 😉
Well done MC, knew you had it in you!! Just took a bit of sun, relaxation, a new route & some vin rouge to bring it out! I wonder if you could base running holidays around that?!! Running holidays!! Ha ha!! How ridiculous is that?! I seriously would though!!
I am still NOT running though, just had 2 weeks hols in the Lake District and not being able to run run at all - it's doing me in. So off to see a sports physio pronto....at last (now I've got a new job I can afford it!).... I need to get back in the game.
The French air is obviously doing you the power of good, wonderful news! Xx
Thank you Fishypieface , sounds like good plan!! The next place we’re staying at is on a vineyard so there’ll be plenty of Vin rouge to keep me going!! You must be so frustrated at not getting out, I’m glad you’re in a position to get the ball rolling & get you back where you belong, pounding them streets!!! Again, you have been an inspiration & your posts are entertaining, I need you back out there coz I’m missing your posts!!! I love the Lake District, that must’ve been torture not being able to run there?? Can’t imagine what we all did before we discovered this fantastic new skill we have...or this forum of friends xxx
Aw, thank you lexi6 ...I sometimes wonder if my posts are boring! Or a bit too frequent but if someone enjoys them I’ll keep posting...that someone must be you!! 😊😊😊 xxx
Thanks misswobble ....it’s taken me a bit longer due to being in holiday mode...& some mornings I’ve felt like a bag of wine & cheese!! But this morning I had strength in my legs , I’d given myself a couple of extra rest days but have been swimming & kayaking so stayed reasonably active...I’ve been here 2 weeks with 3 weeks to go so I will graduate here...well, further south...that will just top my holiday off 😉
That’s a good holiday! Enjoy the change is scenery. Kayaking sounds fun! Yeah, keeping moving is the thing. I run better when I go out after walking the dog 👍😃
Brilliant- almost had a weepy eye myself reading your post, but then I decided I must have poked myself with my mascara brush!! The extra one k will be a breeze. A holiday where you’re achieving- whoop, whoop!
Hahahahaha...be careful with that mascara brush!! A holiday where I’m actually running?!! That’s just weird & no way would I have even thought my trainers would be the first thing I’d pack in my previous life!! 😜
Brilliant!! I think we finished the C25K around the same time(though I haven’t posted much since, I do still pop in and read what’s happening), I did my first 9k yesterday and it is a great feeling isn’t it!! Though I don’t know what’s happened to my brain, Friday evening used to be a pub evening....I’ve found I’ve been turning down pub night for running night, what’s going on with that!!!
I thought I recognised your name but haven’t seen much of you, glad you’re still running though...pub v running?!! And running winning? Totally unheard of...what has happened to us?!! Something wonderful, that’s what! x
Brilliant Bev, your run , you and your lovely post..woohoo kiddo nearly there. Legs made for running and I think you now believe it. So happy for you, celebrate well today, you've earned a beer or three. Big hugs 🤗 🏃♀️😊😊
Thankyou Lorijay , what a lovely day I had yesterday, I’m still smiling today! I celebrated with a beer or two & they were even more enjoyable than usual! xxx 😊
Oh wow that’s fab especially since you’re on holiday!!! I to enjoy your posts definitely not boring! Great description of what you feel like especially “bag of wine and cheese” Great photo - go you. 😊🏃♀️🕶🌞
Thank you DebJogsOn ...I haven’t seen you on Strava have I? No, I haven’t planned my route, only because we won’t be here where we are now & I don’t know what it’s like where we’re going next but I will suss a route out x
Fantastic Mummycav, what an achievement! 👍Congratulations on everything you’ve achieved so far. 👏👏 I’m at the same stage as you now, and hoping to finish off my B210K adventure with a 10K in a couple of weeks just before my 55th birthday. 🎂🎁
Thankyou David_G ...I’m so pleased, I never thought it was possible, when I think back to my struggles on the C25k, I can’t believe this has happened!! I wish you all the luck in the world with your 10k....and a very happy birthday!
Woo hoo! Never doubted for a minute you could do this, MC, and I am so chuffed. I know EXACTLY how you feel - such an achievement. You are a strong woman who commits and gets it done, I really admire that. Well done my lovely. Onwards and upwards to the 10k finish line! Have a good rest now. Stretch, swim, plan...👏👏👏
Thankyou Sadie-runs ...you have a lot to do with my acheivements, I watch you & you inspire me to carry on...I will be in the pool with the kids later, we are having a great holiday & my running is making it even better! xxx
Thanks SaskAlliecat ...you’re another one who I watch & get great inspiration from....you’re so strong & adventurous...I am looking forward to the 10k....I can’t believe how far I’ve come xx
I am so impressed that you have kept your 3 runs a week going while you have been on your hols in France Mummycav. With all the temptations of good wine, cheese and baguettes too. 9k! You are nearly there! 🏃♀️👏🥖🧀🍷🇫🇷

Yes Oldfloss ...a beautiful, stunning part of the world....I feel so lucky to be here...and on holiday for 5 weeks...I’m so proud and thankful for all the help, inspiration & friendship I have found..you have helped me so much...especially in the early days when I had the oldfloss bush in the park!! I hope you’re back running soon xxxxxx
Well done! What a scenic area to run in - I am quite jealous especially since I'm back in cool, grey England now. Looking forward to hearing about your 10km triumph soon!
Thanks Slinky, it is gorgeous & I’m seeing it all in a different light now that im a runner!! Brrrr, cool, grey England doesn’t sound so appealing!! I’ve got another couple of weeks before I’m back in the UK so I’m going to make the most of the weather!! 😉
Hey Mummycav!! I just logged onto this forum for the first time in ages and had to check out what you're up to. Brilliant that you're pushing up to the big 10! I miss C25K and the forum but have kept it up too (have a look at my post from yesterday over on the C25K forum). I remember so well the struggles you had with w5r3 and look at you now! xxx
