5k yesterday in Marple, 3.5k today in Cumbria. Broke my no-running-on-consecutive-days rule as won't be able to run tomorrow, too busy. 2 great runs and I feel all the better for them ๐
Running tourism - the best kind: 5k yesterday... - Bridge to 10K
Running tourism - the best kind
Marple? That's my parkrun Where did you go? Brabyn's park, the canal? My new 10k route goes to through Marple, taking in the canal and the middlewood way.
I have been quite good about not running on consecutive days recently, but I may well break that rule later as I feel the need to try out my lovely new trainers Just a short run you understand
Peak Forest canal - with my friend who lives there. Just beautiful - envious of this being your usual route
Ah - I live in High Lane, and I sometimes run up to the junction with the Peak Forest. What's the towpath like though? Is it really rough, or OK for running?
Oh - it might be nice now, but when it's pelting with rain, not so fun. The towpath turns to a quagmire, and you need wellies not running shoes!!
So glad you are enjoying it though.
Sorry to interrupt, but have you thought of doing this race, Neil? gmfrssportsandwelfare.com/m...
Out along the Middlewood Way from Rose Hill station, back along the canal. Mostly flat. It was my first (only 10K) race last year. Will probably do it again this year.
Oh hello there! Funny you should mention that, but yes! It is basically my usual 10k route, so pretty sure Iโll do that one. Are local to these parts Sue?
Yes, I live in Romiley and do the Marple parkrun most weeks. I have been clocking up a few tourism parkruns, but none of those have been local. I really need to try some closer to home
Looks lovely! ๐โค๏ธ
Gorgeous.... well done you x Beautiful spot.. I have boated along there when we had our canal boat!
You know what you. are doing.. i was running ever day before I hit the IC... Sometimes only 1K...but still out there.
You are doing amazingly.. where next? x
Shame that you were not in Marple today, we could have met at the parkrun. There was a big turnout and cake today because one of our regulars did his 500th parkrun - and his 300th Event Setup!
Well done though.
I love Cheshire and Cumbria. I'm envious. Which bit of Cumbria?
Off to the Lakes tomorrow for 5 days, lots of walking, not sure about running, will take my gear just in case though
Perfect, Iโve enjoyed my tourist running too, thereโs something special about new territory! Lovely picture x
Lovely photo. Running tourism is fun - enjoy ๐
