That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
We're on holiday and I planned to complete my first outdoor 10k this week and send the results off to claim my first virtual race medal - a Holiday 10K. Went for my first run of the holiday this morning and decided to just get the 10k under my belt and out of the way, lest any pesky gremlins got a hold as the week went on. Left early as the sun came up - already 'feels like 25C', but a good wind and some cloud cover helped a lot. It seems though, that seaside runs split into two distinct camps - the flat as a pancake and the hilly. Guess which I picked? The two uphill sections in the last half k almost beat me, but happiIy I got the better of them. 'Just do it' as ju-ju- would say. Even with the hilly bits, it was so much nicer than the treadmill 10ks.
So the rest of my day will be spent lying around with a clear conscience, just feeling those muscles healing, ready for a run in the other direction later in the week. Oh, and I will be much less restrained with the sangria this evening than last
