As per title ….. a tourist Parkrun on Saturday, at Portsmouth Lakeside, happy with 25'14" on a strange course, especially as Strava decided I didn't need 500m split times
3k on Monday morning, first K with Dexy5 in 7'02" (her new standard pace, down from 7'30" last week!), then 2 sets of 3 30:20:10s with a 2' recovery trot between them, another 1' recovery and a canter to the finish in 18'07".
And this morning 6K, again the first K trotting with Dexy in the same time, then 3ks cantering (5'16", 5'01", 4'54"). Then the plan dissolved - the intention was to do the 5th K at the trot and speed up for the 6th, but with my pacer off away at the other end of the prom somewhere I did the first 500 in 2'40"and, despite a further attempt to slow down, completed #5 in 5'30" instead of 7'. So not as much left in the tank as planned, but still managed to push #6 in 4'47". So 32'30" overall, against a 34' target Not that I'm worried abut the stats, obviously …...
Week 3 is going to take me a fortnight, 'cos we're away up North for a few days in the Lakes next week before watching the mighty Stanley's first game in League 1 since 1960. We'll be doing enough mileage, but in hiking boots not running shoes, except (hopefully) for a Parkrun in Accy next Saturday morning. Onward and upward!
