So it seems that not stopping for a wee / not being intimidated by a dog / not having a stomach virus has really improved my time...funny that!
Was out a bit later than normal today, at 7:45am, and it was already quite warm. Wish I had got out sooner as it was raining lightly at 7am, that would have been lovely.
Went to my beloved park, and repeated my last 10k route. Truth be told, it was hard, and I had to really focus and give myself a good taking to on a few occasions. Walked for 1 min up a ridiculous steep set of steps, but the rest was all trotting along at a steady pace. It was HARD but I did it! Very happy.
Hope you all have memorable runs this weekend, and take care in the heat.

Thanks Ripcurly! It was also the inaugural outing of my new Runderwear pants - maybe they made the difference?! BTW I can not recommend them enough - so comfy, zero chafe and the wicking wow! π xxx
Haha. I just bought a pair, yet to try them. I feel my run shopping has reached a new extreme, but will take comfort knowing I'm not alone π. Awesome run for you today, congratulations on such an amazing time.
NEVER thought I would buy pants especially for running, but now wish I had sooner, Linda. They are amazing! You are not alone my dear. π But you know, this running lark is wonderful, I think itβs worth investing in good kit that will help us with our goals.
And thanks! 10 mins better than my first 10k! Crazy. x
Wow Sadie, you go from strength to strength. 10k and running for an hour seem like impossible dreams to me but you are also running 10k at a faster pace than I can run 5k. You must be a natural born runner πββοΈ Well done for avoiding barking dogs etc
Thanks Dexy! I have no idea how this is happening to be honest! I just keep putting the hours in, one foot after the other, singing βla la laβ with my fingers in my ears whenever a voice tells me to stop/give up/you canβt do this! Knackered now. Will take next 10k way slower, I think - the last 1km was horrible and hard fought because of my pace. xxx
Thanks dear LL. π But I do mean it when I say I want to slow down - I was dead on my feet the last km, not a pretty sight! But still, I am pleased, didnβt realise I had it in me! π xx
Aaaaaand very well done too Sadie. I really am so very proud of you my little lovely. Your pace is tremendous, oh to get like you one day. And so what if you had to walk up the steps, I'd be doing that too. You've done marvellously and still shining through.
Big cheer for Sadie, yaaaay, your post is very encouragingππ xxx
Aw, thanks darling, you are so sweet. π I hope to be encouraging - nothing special about me, am just a 46-year old woman who just puts one foot in front of the other. This time last year I could not run for one minute! Mad, isnβt it?! Hope you are doing well, lovely lady. xxx
Hi Sadie. Well done on your 10k especially in this heat.ππ
So pleased your feeling better and no dogs intimidating you.
Thank you so much, my friend! π It was a good run. Neil is doing great; we are honestly not competing - more like just egging each other on! I just about forgive him for getting to 10k first. π
I love your comment about the aggressive π dog! Ha ha ha!
Whoohoo! Now you'll be known as Sadie-runs-10k-fast! You're a speed demon. A great run, a superb pace; no scary dog or ignorant dog owner can keep you away!
Whoop whoop!! That glass that I raised to you last night might be coming out again tonight!! Amazing...Iβm not worthy!! Wow to the time & pace Mrs!!! Maybe you should change your name to βSadiesablur!!! xxx
I got out before it was too awful, thankfully! And the wet buff really is a lifesaver. π I do need to slow down though; I donβt want to feel quite as knackered after doing a 10k! xx
If itβs any consolation, I couldnβt get any slower and Iβm still knackered. I 5hink the humidity is the culprit for me xx
Flippinβ Nora, thatβs fantastic, well done you. Iβm still in awe! Well done for getting out there again after a tough week, and what else? Oh yes, totally smashing it!!! Youβre awesome, I wish I had your strength, stamina, speed and determination. I also wish βdetermination β began with an βsβ. That wouldβve fitted better π
Thank you dearest Jan! Sometimes you do have to push yourself a wee bit to get a new result, but this time I wasnβt thinking about it, it just happened! I cannot wait for the temps to cool down! It has been 20 degrees plus at night here in London and I am just not sleeping! Bring on autumn I say! π xxx
Indeed. You know in cartoons when a character runs so fast their legs are just a circular blur? Thatβs me. π But seriously, I am not that fast all the time; I think this 10k was a flook! I just tries me best. And thank you for your kind words. I love the challenge of a longer run, and will get back to it as soon as this flipping heat wave passes! xx
