Newbie to this forum as just graduated. Saw the 8 week plan, looks terrifying... my question is, I’m currently doing @3.7km for 30 min run, so how should I prepare to be ready for week 1? This week just added 2/3 mins on each run, but I suspect this isn’t quite right.

Hi and welcome..
But first.. some consolidation might be an idea for a couple of weeks, before embarking on the 8 week plan?
A few more thirty minute runs to carry on the leg building up process..different routes and some shorter and longer runs... then may be take a peek at the C25K+ podcasts... which are challenging, fun and extremely useful!
We need a bit of this consolidation time to prepare for moving on... and then when we embark on the great 10K programme, we feel ready for the pattern of runs

First of all read the link that IannodaTruffe sent you when you graduated- that will give you lots of advice on actions to take after W9.
The main thing is to consolidate for 3 weeks before running for longer.
Happy running

I would have thought that before you set foot on "the bridge", you need to be regularly running 5k reasonably comfortably - however long it takes. Which probably does mean gently lengthening your runs as you have started doing, rather than going faster! But as Oldfloss and Dexy5 say, maybe not quite yet.
Welcome and good luck

Hi and congrats. Consolidation is key for a few weeks. Once you can run 5k (in any time) then you will be ready. Good luck!
Sound advice all. Thanks. I shall lurk on this forum and absorb the wisdom of those who’ve run before me! 🏃🏾♀️😊
As everyone else says, consolidate for a bit. The 10k plan is brilliant and won’t feel terrifying once you have done some more runs and built up stamina.
