This time last year, I didn’t or couldn’t run. I was in London in August and was inspired by family to begin running so began my C25K journey. So proud of myself for completing it but feel stuck at 5k how do I go beyond or even consistently run 5k. Thank you so much 😊
Getting Beyond: This time last year, I didn’t... - Bridge to 10K
Getting Beyond
Hi, and welcome to Bridge to 10k. I was in the same position as you, also stuck at 5k, I had been running a maximum of 5k for a couple of years until I started this. The trick is to go a little farther each time as per ju-ju's 8 week plan, it does really work. I am now up to 8k, and while it is still tough its only as tough as 5k used to be, hope that makes sense
Well done you for sticking with it!
How about giving Ju-ju's 10 is the magic number plan a go (find in Pinned Posts). The plan is brilliant for increasing distance and you can always repeat weeks if you don't feel ready to move on.
Good luck and keep up the good work!
Happy running!
Sounds like you are ready to get up to 10k... do come and join our plan here, or find a plan that suits you 😎
Thanks ju-ju. Do I search for it on this forum?
Have got the plan.... happy days (or it will be once I complete it 👍). Started C25K with trying to run and listen to a podcast or an audio book 🙄 That didn’t last long. Running song track is the way to go. Thanks everyone 😊
ju-ju's plan is great. I loved having structure back after several months of aimless running, which was nice for a while but I think I need the discipline of a progressive plan and the sense of achievement that comes with it. Hope you enjoy it too
Sounds perfect for you. Enjoy 🙂
