Ran further than expected?!

Humid evening but went for run. Longest run of my ‘week’. I planned 6K, but struggled in some parts, heat & hills. Gremlins crept in saying ‘your legs won’t do it’. I thanked ‘them’ and asked ‘them’ to shut the door on the way out. I did the route and was surprised that I did 6.8K in 44mins. It seemed the longest run of my life but it was worth hanging on in there! I think I will do a 10K one day 😉

Well done you! That’s a great pace, especially with hills and humidity.

Thanks, I really thought that I’d only done approx 5.5k due to struggling. I got to the point where my pace was just faster than a brisk walk, so I thought that I’d fail. Maybe it was slowing down to a steady pace that did it?! Hills I never look ahead as seeing what’s ahead is daunting. I just look diagonally down and keep moving.

You WILL do 10k one day, and not too far in the future either! Just keep it slow, keep the faith, and keep batting away those pesky gremlins. You are doing great and 6.8km is not to be sniffed at! Happy running. x

Yes you will!!!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Like many of us here the 10K just happens unexpectedly. You’ve got this. 😬

Legs a bit stiff this morning, requires stretching & roller I think 🤔

Longer runs definetly impacting more! Get out the torture equipment we call the foam roller! Sounds so much nicer with that name. 😂😬
