So I have been doing 40m regularly and throw in 50m or even an hour and am at the 6km mark and know (from getting lost in Central Park the other month) that I can do 7km.
But today the legs were just not interested.
We had my mother visiting 2 weeks ago which threw my Tues, Thus, Sun routine out the window and then last week was Rolling Stones on Weds evening (few beers, not much sleep) and Thurs - Sun was 75,000+ Harley Davidsons in town for the European rally (lots of beers, absolutely NO sleep) then today I was up at 4.30am to go to the airport. I knew I should have just gone for a run this morning. But as tonights hotel is next to the Englischer Park in the middle of Munich I thought I would wait until I got here then go for a run in different scenery.
9min in and I was really not enjoying it. It is humid, it is dusty so my asthma wasn't bad but also my breathing wasnt great and I was just generally pooped. But slowing it down to 9m15s a km I thought 'well lets get through the initial 10 mins and it normally picks up from there' but alas it was not to be. At 1.83km / 16min the legs said that they really were not enjoying themselves and neither was I .
But it is still a run that I am glad I did rather than looking out of the hotel room windown thinking it would be a nice park to run in. Plus...I found a huge beer garden with a big screen to watch tonights France v Belgium game. SO there is always the positive in every situation
