Have been procrastinating like mad of late. Left a week between runs for various reasons last week and I really felt it when I went out again. Terrible! Had to keep stopping.
Weather hasn't been helping and I put yesterday's run off due to a busy and tiring weekend. Nearly put today's off due to weather and horrible period. BUT- I didn't.
Ended up doing just over 5.5k and my second fastest pace which I was really pleased with. I also got a buff type thing from a vegan runners group I'm in and someone advised soaking that in cold water and wearing as a head band.
Oh my goodness! It's a revelation!! I struggle with the heat and this really helps to cool me down. I probably look a bit stupid but who cares
I've also started mixing half a dioralyte rehydration sachet into my water before a run when it's really hot and that seems to help too.
If you're struggling with the heat maybe those things might help if you don't already know about them ๐
Sometimes I feel so tempted to give up, especially when I feel like I'm not getting anywhere, but then I have days like today where I look back to where I was a few months ago and I can really see the benefits I have gained from sticking with this.
