I'm addicted ....

If I hadn't already realised it this morning has really proved that I'm addicted to running.

Woke up about 5.30 and knew I needed to get straight out of bed and go for a run. Knowing I won't be running Parkrun tomorrow as I'm volunteering I'd planned a 5k route.

But the gremlins woke up at the same time, I felt awful, headache and stiff and achy all over. I knew it was just me having a bad morning so thought I'd just run for 10 mins ... well, your shouldn't do too much in this hot weather should you!

So I did my warm up walk and set off. Moving only slightly faster than running on the spot to begin with. The first few minutes were gently down hill so managed to build up a bit of speed.

... well to cut a long story short I ended up finishing my 5k, headache gone, stiff joints back to normal levels (age related!).

So pleased I got out there ... so pleased I started this running lark ... and so pleased to have you lovely people to share it with.

Happy running everyone ... and keep cool!

Yep, it gets you like that. Ive suddenly realised that I don’t have to psyche myself up to run any more. I put my kit out for the next run when I’ve finished the current one. Get into it, go out all prosaic. I think part of it is gaining more fitness and endurance as a runner. You kind of know you are going to be able to run, no matter what, and that the days of not being able to at certain times of day or feeling off colour are gone. If you do feel off, you know it’s genuine and that you should respect your body. Like the other day when I went out to run a long distance. Just didn’t have it in me, did less than 2k, then got up next day and did a 5k because I felt disappointed and cheated. Good for us. We are doing it x
