What is virtual running

I have seen this mentioned a few times on here What Is it?

Hi bertiesugar, there may be other websites that do this, its taking part in a virtual race or challenge which you do in your own time, wherever you like within the time specified and you upload your result after you have done it.

You can choose an event, pay (part goes to charity) do the challenge then get your medal and check out where you came along with your fellow participants...

As BBR says above. But also I have done a few virtual runs with forum members, to give support and encouragement when needed.

The Christmas of 2016 we also did a C25k Virtual Team Parkrun. I think there were about 60 of us running together virtually, many with C25k bibs pinned on. Many new graduates running PR for their first time! We had a mention in Parkrun UK News about it. C25k runners across the globe! Where there was no Parkrun locally, people just ran at the same time as us.

It was a great event 🏃🏻🏃🏻‍♀️😀

Race at your pace is another website - monthly challenges where you pay £10-14 and choose the distance with the lure of a medal +/- running top at the end. Challenges for children and cycling too. It's great to enter these as you have a goal rather than just 'see how far you can go' virtual running.
