Give your bones a workout, public told - bbc.co.uk/news/health-44696423. I am a bit puzzled ad to why running is not mentioned in this article as I thought it was good for bones and strength (More so than cycling, which gets a mention)

That bbc program a few months back suggested cycling was awful for the bones as the lack of impact led to a reduction in bone density with top cyclists having 20% less bone mass as a result. They suggested activities with impact were the best, they had some cricketers in the test group I think that were best or long jumpers(I don't fully recall) but sadly they omitted runners which would seem to have been best. So running should be great for the bones and it is already well known that running increase bone density however some suggest that you need to have a multi directional dimension ie active twisting from activities such as squash etc.
