Early bird catches the 9K 😬

Another 5am run to get my 8k done before I bake to death. Was beautiful down the beach - no breeze at all but still cool enough.

Not going to lie the first 2k was hard - think I may still have been asleep! Anyway off I trotted with my first 5k. Seem to settle into my run after that. Looked at my watch as it buzzed 6k. Ok just 2 to go.

I seem to spend the next 10 mins dodging the beach clean up team. Looked at my watch and saw 7. Right last K to go and was pretty tired now.

Buzz - hang on that’s my pace not KM! I was at 8.3KM! So shall I stop or carry on?? Hmmm 10% rule kept ringing in my ears. Sod it!!! I’m going to do the 9k. I did it!!! Pretty pleased with that. 😁😁😁

I’ll go with panther cub as that sounds much cooler and cub is more appropriate being so new to running.

I’m so impressed that you get up so early to get your run done, I’m still struggling with that so I did my 5k at 9am after the school run and it was HOT ☀️🔥

Thanks Jenny. I just find running in the heat energy sapping. Was getting warm when I finished my run at 6 so know by 8 would have been way too hot. 😎

It really does get too hot very quickly at that time, that’s why I was still taking it slow - no choice!

Ahh, the idea of running on a beach first thing in the morning sounds fabulous! 😀 Sadly there are no beaches in Croydon so I’m making do with local streets in the evening.

Very well done ripcurl. How on earth did you manage that? Not only did you run at 0500 but you did 9k. Totally impressed. Lovely light at that time and it must have been quiet (apart from beach clean)
