First 5k since IC

Well slept in so had to make decision to still go out this morning or wait until tonight, Sunday night need my energy getting psyched for work so out in the heat it was.

Left the house at 10 o'clock and walked off to the canal. Very warm is an understatement but did my 5k (most disrespectful time-my expectations of self only).

So pleased to have completed 5k again and body not making any noise at all so hopefully all the additional strength work I am doing is starting to pay off.

Feeling really happy and energised again.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and happy running to all :) :)

Great! Thrilled to hear you're back on track. I also overslept but decided it'd be too hot at 10 am ish to run. Ventured into the garden and that confirmed it, sunglasses day... Feet up, sipping water, preparing for tonight's run. 😊

Thanks Sharon. I am really happy as I do feel like I'm back on track and now just have to embed it again. Wise move waiting until tonight, very hot but had been mentally preparing for this run and couldn't wait any longer. Enjoy your day in the garden and good luck tonight :) :)

Yay! She’s back in the shoes!!

I don’t envy you running in this heat!

Thanks Jay. I am feeling good about it though pace was very slow but I just tried to focus on achieving the 5k. So happy body is very quiet and seeming unperturbed. Breathing was the difficulty today but unsure why as I was going very very slow. Hope you are having a good weekend. :) :)

Thanks hun :) :). You are doing so well, it's great following your progress :) :)

Hope to start the B210k next Sunday. I think another week of consolidating the 5k is sensible. :)

Thank you lovely. You’re right to be sensible and it’s paying off. X

Well done you, and in this heat. Your breathing will have been a bit under par because of the humidity xx

Thanks Flick. I'm pleased to know that the heat and humidity played a part in my breathing, was hoping I hadn't lost fitness. :) :)

Honestly, it’s like breathing treacle at the moment 🙁

Happy to have done it but won't be doing it again at that time while this heatwave is with us. Hope you're having a good weekend Flick :)

I’m having a two day break after that gruelling 11k in te heat the other day.both my dogs are panting with heat and humidity, including my lurcher who usually likes lying in the sun.x

We have a 1 year old blue staffie boy who is usually so full of life but he is really struggling with this heat. No his usual self and not really interested in his food much either. Think this heat is effecting everything and everyone.

Thanks Tash. Yeah just nice to get that first one done and dusted with no niggles. :)

So pleased to read this Lori. You’re back on track and raring to go. I’m snapping at your heels and planning to do my 5km tomorrow. Should be cooler too. Glad to hear you are continuing with your exercises. Me too. Xx

Hi Lorijay, Feeling really happy and energised again sounds great. I am so pleased that you have nursed your way back to running, that's great. I am very sorry that I have been missing your posts. I shall try harder. I have a feeling you will soon zoom on past me as you are keen to go for Ju jus plan and I'm currently happy in a slower lane. All the very best for your next runs 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
