Gosh Sadie very swish.

Like the detail of the lacing anchors below the bottom eyes and note you do not use the loop method on the top double holes/eyes?

Perhaps not, or is this just an additional fondle before you get out tomorrow to the serious business.

Next is your Garmin. No catching you then.lol.

Thank you for the reminder about the runners' loop – I had just forgotten to do it, distracted by the shoes' beauty. :-) And yep, I am hoping I will fly in these!

in reply to Sadie-runs

I didn't even know runners' loop was even a thing! Anyone care to enlighten me?? Is it just me that thinks it sounds like some sort of tropical parasitic infestation?!

Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to

OMG! I cannot believe I have never told you about this before.

youtube.com/watch?v=jG_XzEj...

It is brilliant.

in reply to Sadie-runs

I shall watch that once I get home, thank you!

On a side note, I love that we both put the apostrophe in the correct place after "runners", probably without thinking about it ;)

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to

Read up on it - has all kinds of benefits!

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to

Well it could be runner’s, too, I suppose. But I like to think it is plural! Also known as Racers’ Loop. 😁

in reply to Sadie-runs

Or I could just say to my boss that I have to go home right now, as I have a bad case of runners' loop...

SaskAlliecat profile image

It made a huge difference to me once I learned about what that weird little extra hole was for and how to use it. The shoes fit better, no heel rise, and I can tighten adequately without numb toes!

Langley-Loper profile image
Langley-LoperGraduate10 in reply to Sadie-runs

I always wondered what that extra hole was for! I thought it was just for people with very narrow feet or extra long laces to use up excess length...now I know.

I never knew my shoes needed locking down. Maybe I will run faster if I am properly strapped in.

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to Langley-Loper

I was told in a running shop that it would help with the very mild over-pronation I have in one foot. But generally, it really does help with locking your feet into the shoes, as it were, which helps with stability, I think!

Langley-Loper profile image
Langley-LoperGraduate10 in reply to Sadie-runs

I locked my feet in for this morning's run and knocked 17 seconds off my previous time for the same route. Maybe it really does help you run faster!

Sqkr profile image
Sqkr in reply to Langley-Loper

I did exactly this on Wednesday! I didn't think I really needed to do the lace loop, I don't find my feet slip so haven't ever bothered. But I was showing my boyfriend how to do it, left the heel lock on and went out—and it turns out I got a 5k PB, and not even in a competitive environment! Just on a quick blast round my local park. Cause and effect...? 😄

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to Sqkr

So interesting! 😁 Well done on your PB, too!

Is that the Heel lock lacing system?

Hi Ted,

Sadie has kindly supplied the video above.

Hope you are all good.

I’m good, had a stinking cold all week so that, along with my holiday put me back a bit.

I did just over 5miles last night but didn’t log it.... very enjoyable run by the river 🤗

They're lovely Sadie! I love my Cloudsurfers so much - got some cow poo on them running through some fields on Monday and was most put out 😂

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to pianoteacher

Yikes! I am actually almost too scared to take them out for fear of getting them dirty. My ASICS were a dark grey, so great for not showing dirt, but these baby blues? Guess I will just have to get used to a bit of dirt. Hope your Cloudsurfers survive the poo! xx

pianoteacher profile image
pianoteacherGraduate10 in reply to Sadie-runs

Yep they survived! One of the people I was running with got it inbetween the little loops on the bottom of his - much worse to clean up :-)

Yay! New trainers to spice up your [running] love life, they look awesome, though it's how they make you feel and run that's important of course.

So... I guess you're now officially two-timing the ASICS now. Mark my words, that's a dangerous game, there'll be tears before bed time you know! Seriously though, I hope you have a long and happy love afair with these, and I hope the run turns out great, and they make you faster :P

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to

Thank you dearest Neil, running buddy extraordinaire. They feel amazing. :-) And yup, the ASICS are going to have to get used to the competition. They have served me well, and I do have many happy memories of them, though.

Hooray, you finally got them. very nice too :)

Yes, finally. After weeks of stalking. :-)

At least they know you wanted them so badly... now they need to repay the love!!!

pinkaardvark profile image
pinkaardvarkGraduate10

ooh, I love that colour way, is it greige? the new black?

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to pinkaardvark

They are more baby blue-grey in real life. :-) I would have preferred a bolder colour, but they only do 2 colourways in this model for women (plus they seem to reserve the bold colours for the men's range grrrrrrrrrrrrr). Just walking around in them is a delight. :-)

pinkaardvark profile image
pinkaardvarkGraduate10 in reply to Sadie-runs

Happy flying. I keep looking at the trail versions now as I think my new asics fujirados are too hot and heavy for me.

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to pinkaardvark

I love ASICS, but like you, have been finding mine too heavy…I have heard good things about the On Trail shoes, too.

I use the Merrell All Out Crush trail shoes......sooo light 😊

Oooh new shoes! Love them Sadie. They might even tempt some of your colleagues to take up running 🙂

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to Irishprincess

:-) We actually have a fair few runners in the office; and I inspired my design partner to do C25K! She is on week 6 now. :-)

Irishprincess profile image
IrishprincessGraduate10 in reply to Sadie-runs

Good for you. Shame we're not on commission ☹️

Gorgeous ! I like the tanned legs too and the socks.... Well wear.

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to

Thanks! Though the tan is a little faked :-) Had to do it before donning the shorts, for fear of dazzling everyone with my winter white legs. The glare could have caused car crashes.

in reply to Sadie-runs

Not a smidgeon of orange to be seen....

It's gonna happen, I am resigned to that.

My Nike's are still clean. I refuse to run in them if it's not dry or if I know I'll be going off the beaten track :)

Eep! They look great. Double excited for the arrival of mine now I've heard you love walking about in yours! I got the slate/jade ones, I think their colour schemes are lovely. I quite like the idea of having something on my feet that looks a bit more subdued and understated than the garish sport standard—as much as I love them, my current shoes do rather look like a unicorn threw them up after a party. I feel a bit like I'm cheating on my trusty Brooks, but I think I'll buy an extra pair of those too for keeping at work. How many pairs of running shoes is acceptable...?

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to Sqkr

I love your "eep"! The colour schemes of On are so classy, I love them. And I really don't like pink and purple. I know the colour doesn't really matter, but if you have shoes that make you swoon, it is easier to get out on run day if you are not really feeling it.

And honest to god, I feel like I have been walking on air all day. Cannot wait to take them out on the road now. :-)

I always get a twinge of jealousy when I see people’s new shoes, there’s so many great colours out there and they make my Adidas boost look soooooo boring. My wife got hokas and they’re so bright and garish, I love them 😎 but they weren’t right for me. The boring boost were the best fit for my feet, although I suppose I could look for some brighter laces 🤔

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to YoureDoingGreatPet

I would have loved more bright, like a grass green or something, but had limited choice. In truth, I have found the colours in the men's range more attractive! Even better colours for the On men's range…! But, it is all about getting what is right for you, as you say, and although these are not the colour I would have naturally gone for, they are the best for my needs.

Got to love a new pair of shoes! Mine are winging their way to me in the post. I am so excited. Jealous you have yours already!

Sadie-runs profile image
Sadie-runsGraduate10 in reply to Langley-Loper

It has been a long wait, as i have been researching and stalking On shoes for ages now. Starting B210K inspired me to re-evaluate my shoes – I sensed I needed one half size larger than I currently had now that I am running longer, and a proper fitting verified that! Hope your new ones arrive soon – it is exciting, isn't it?!

Ohhhhhhh I think I’m in love too...I want some & they’re just my colour...!! 😉

You would look (and feel) splendid in them, MC. Maybe self-gift when halfway through B210k? 😁👍
