Wasn't feeling it

Got home, did some DIY in the little guys room and then got my kit on to run, but then had a PB sandwich and another coffee, so had to wait. Then didn't really feel like it, was going to go to yoga afterwards so felt pressured to get out and run in time.... slowly the yoga evaporated and another coffee drunk and now feeling grumpy with myself as I wasn't going to run. Then at the final minute like all master procrastinators, out the door I swung while spitting feathers at my lack of commitment. So off I went with annoying bluetooth headphones beeping and cutting out, determined to just do an easy 5k and get back home.

Take it easy I did with a slowish (5:50) first click, but by click 3 my annoyance had not dissipated so I pushed on harder in order to get the charade over with. And as you may have guessed by the end I managed a PB. Great, but could have done without the drama to get there.

It seems that the run directly after a race is always a quick one. Not quite in the 27's yet but I think on fresher legs that 27:30 will come soon :).

p.s. nice to have the cloudflyers back on and to run on a bit of gravel and tarmac.

Well done on your PB!! It must have been the sandwich!!

I find my fastest runs have been when I’ve least expected it!! 😀

Very generous of you tbae. But I'm just making it up as I shuffle along like the rest of us, 😉

That’s a great time! And you have further convinced me to buy myself some On Cloud shoes. 😁 Well done in getting out there despite not feeling it! Just goes to show...

Congratulations Pink! Super 5k time💪

I feel all those longer runs you did in Padstow, and your 10k race was what gave you the extra speed for your 5k😎.. ( just my theory)

😊x

Thanks BBR. You are probably right. I find that after a while I develop a new higher gear but don't have the endurance to sustain it over 5k, so get some ropey runs for a bit and then get a breakthrough. The longer runs and hill climbing seem to help.
