...run for 24m 54s. Really MapMyFitness? Really??
It was lovely and cool today, so I headed to some local woodland with the dogs. I was supposed to meet a friend, but that fell through, so I felt at liberty to take a path we don’t generally run and just let my feet take me where they would (letting the dogs do as they pleased) then walk back to the Tea Rooms for breakfast.
My feet lead me quite a long way up the hill past a car park that I still don’t know how to get to! along a flattish, wide trail and then onto some much narrower, root studded paths.
I was feeling pretty pleased with myself as I remembered to keep my chin up on the hill, and look ahead while in amongst the trees. I wasn’t even worried about getting lost as I had MapMyFitness tracking my route.
All too soon (or so it seemed) the app was telling me I had ‘reached my goal’. At which point I thought, ‘I’ll just do the extra few seconds so I’ve done a whole number of minutes instead of a ridiculous number of seconds, what harm can it do?’
I then proceeded to fall flat on my face a couple of seconds later, having caught my toe on a tree root, and grazed my elbows and knees, like a little kid. That’ll learn me!
It wasn’t till I got home that I realised I’ve actually made a couple of tiny holes in my leggings 😕
