So here goes 😳😳

I posted a month or so ago, not long after completing C25K, celebrating that I’d ran 7k one morning without noticing!!

Well later that day, my husband, after studying my summary on Map My Run, sensitively pointed out that it was quite unlikely that I’d managed to run that far in such a short time and suggested that the app might have messed up? Well it had!! I I eventually saw the funny side after relentless teasing from my family but I was so embarrassed about my post that I thought I’d never be able to use this forum again 😳😳 Anyway, I’m still running, very slowly, and am using a different app !!

Thought I’d take the bull by the horns and confess my foolishness.

You don't need to be embarrassed, Sarah, some of those apps are not all up to what they should be, there was some new runner that told us that he had run a 7k in 20 minutes, of course, that was not true, to do 7k in 20 minutes is for more experienced runners, Olympians.

Yes that’s what my husband told me!! Thanks for your kind response. Makes me feel better

No need for embarrassment!! Just remember that feeling you felt when you thought you’d run 7k for when you actually do! 💪🏼💪🏼😬

For me Strava seems most reliable. 😊

I doubt anyone cares. We're just glad to hear your running stories, as it helps enrich the tarten weave of our own running experiences.

Do it again mind you and we'll be round with a wet fish. 🙄

I always double up my apps just to be sure but so what. You’re running that’s the main thing. I’m enjoying it all a lot more since I’ve started to ignore all the stats until I’ve finished. I find I’m running further since I stopped checking my pace and speed . Just keep enjoying it 😄

I didn’t know I could double up! I’m using Runkeeper now - I’m not bothered about speed - just want to build up some distance, Happy to plod along at my usual snail pace!

Not sure if you have outdone me.🤔

But hey ho.😂

When I was doing my C25k I had it all worked out ,

12 times round the football pitch was 5k or 3miles.Seemed reasonable.

400x12=4.8k almost 5k.

Turns out it’s 17times.🙈Only 300m round.

I thought for weeks I was some sort of a running god.🙈😂

Lovely while it lasted.Ah and the best thing the feeling is still there. Not the running god bit.

Run because we can.💫🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💫

Lovely to see you here.🌟👏👏

Little afraid of the wet fish bit.🙈😂

Embarrassed🤔,hey ho, not anymore, those days are long gone.👍Retired.😴

I was supposed to be a mechanical engineer, and some of that was metrology, the science of measurement, Lol, 🙈😂

Run because we can.

Enjoy it all and this gift to yourself.🌟👏👏

Recently, MapMyFitness told me that I’d run nearly 5k in just under 27 minutes!

Luckily I knew this was claptrap as

1) I was doing a C25K run that was mostly walking

&

2) The route was one I have done before and is around 3k

😂

Haha I think I wanted to believe it!! I’m so easily flattered !!

Sarah... you are running...that is all that matters:) Technology is brilliant... for totally confusing us :)

Use Strava.. I started fairly recently.. and it is great and lots of fun,and quite a few C25K-ers are there.. :) It is a great record and you get extra support from fellow runners too.. always helpful:)

You are doing just fine.... and will get there:)

Thank you Oldfloss I will take a look. When I did the C25K I found the support from the forum essential and having been missing it. So glad I posted yesterday! 😁

Well my daughter and I use Strava, run the same route together with one of us in the outside of the pavement and one on the inside and we quite often get different times and distances

Oh dear! My daughter is trying to persuade me to get a Fitbit thing but I’ve had similar gadgets before and can’t work out how to use them!! Shocking really 😂😁
