Two surprising discoveries

I’m generally quite lazy but on my rest day last weekend I went on The Beast, an amazing 384m inflatable obstacle course. Totally knackering but enormous fun.

I figured I’d be a super plodder the following day, but my pace actually improved by a min per km over 5k.

Second strange discovery was that I actually enjoyed my first go at intervals yesterday!

Trying to keep a short stride whilst speeding up felt a bit weird, but no shin aches so hopefully the right technique.

I forgot to press start on MapMyRun, so no idea about pace, but nice to know I can speed up a bit, if only for 10 seconds!

Sounds great! The beast sounds fun too. If you’d asked me 3 months ago I would have said no way, but since running (plodding) I reckon it would be okay. It’s not just your fitness that improves 😊
