Today I braved the great outdoors! It was lovely 😊. I’ve done all of my running so far on a treadmill and it has become boring. It has been really useful to train on, as I know how far I’m going etc, but my aim today was to run 6km and the thought of plodding along for nearly an hour ....
So I donned my running shorts and set off, with the target of running for about 50 minutes, which I figured would be approx 6km.
I’m never running long distances on a treadmill again. The sun was out, people smiled at me, I saw wildlife. The traffic lights weren’t great, but the park was lovely. And it didn’t take me an hours traveling time to get to the gym and back!
Including walking I managed 7.4km, my Fitbit tells me I ran for 6.6km - well above my target. It was slow and in some places slower, but I can see now why people run.
This forum (and the c25k) is amazing. Without reading all of your posts I’m certain I would never have got this far! So thank you 😊
