"I just ran", and loved it. Decided that today I would remove any expectations and just go out and enjoy a consolidation run after recent graduation. I have been stressing out about speed, pace etc and just wanted to run today.
It was brilliant, I smiled lots during the run and found a nice rhythm and pace. Ended up running 5.3k, not fast just good steady pace and loved it.
What a way to start Sunday, I just ran because I could.
Hope everyone has a great day

Yes totally agree. I am just going to focus on distance at the mo and hope speed will come more naturally as I progress. Was the speed interval run hard on the body and lungs?
It should improve speed I hear once you do longer distances. Not too bad on the lungs but my knee played up after but fine now. It’s running and sprinting intervals so I suppose harder on the legs. I’m going to do one interval run a week as supposed to be good to improve speed and stamina. Hope so anyway!
Those of us with dodgy old lady eyesight have no choice but to just run. Actually I can make out soem of te settings on my watch, but I tend not to look much. The only reall prompt I get is the 1km buzz, and I tend to lose track of that so am never entirely sure how far Ive run. I think it’s a blessing in disguise, as otherwise Imwould be obsessed. It’s also nice to have a surprise at the end of a run when I get back home and look at the stats. Well done for your over 5k run 😊 x
Im fine with distance. I think i would fall over switching back and forth and I hate the feel of glasses on my face when active - so kudos to you for coping with them. I also find if I wear glasses all the time, I cant adjust to seeing without them. An optition once told me I dont adjust very well to glasses. Heyho ...
I'm with you there! I read 2 lines past 20/20 vision for distance on Thursday...no problem, but my Garmin I have to put in the right light, at the right angle, on a good day to know what it says. I just run, and my Garmin buzzes away to let me know I'm still going. 😀
Thanks Flick. I know the score with old lady eyesight, I run with my glasses down my bra .lol.. just in case I need them in emergency. Just nice to run for the hell of it. Hey been looking at some of your pics of running gear, very trendy!, love it
now that's a thought, stuff em down me bra. Though i do have a flipbelt now and you can get the luggage for a holiday abroad in one of those! As for the running gear, I could probably have afforded an iPhone X if i hadn't bought so much of it
Your run sounds lovely! Those are the very best kind of runs...where you just go. I have started going out with no route planned, I just explore side turnings, paths, fields, parks...until I've had enough. I have to use Google Maps to find my way home quite regularly though. 😁
Hi Lorijay, I am behind with this reply, sorry about that. Well done on your post grad run. I do hope you have some more good runs since, it is certainly lovely when they come. No pressure just run, run, run. Miles and minutes complete. All the best for your onward running journey. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
